We are now just 26 days away from the Royal Wedding and speculation is still in overdrive about who is going to make the Royal Wedding dress. Front runner Bruce Oldfield seems to have faded slightly from the race in light of the frenzy over Sarah Burton and Alexander McQueen. Many now believe that Oldfield will be dressing the mother of the bride, Carole Middleton, rather than Kate herself.
But this week, Pippa Middleton, Kate’s younger sister and chief bridesmaid, was seen paying a visit to Alice Temperley’s West London showroom. This was a visit that lasted for more than 3 hours. Pippa was accompanied by her mother Carole, and was clutching what looked like a shoebag. This raises the question – Is Alice Temperley designing the bridesmaids dresses?
The evidence is strong. Kate is a fan of Alice Temperley. She often visits the outlet at Bicester Village, and she wore a lovely Temperley black and white dress for her appearance at the Teenage Cancer Trust carol service in December, her first public appearance, and so a very special event. Carrying a shoe bag could be the sign of a fitting, trying with the right shoes to ensure the length is correct.
Another explanation is that Alice is designing on of the two dresses Kate Middleton is expected to wear. As well as THE DRESS, Kate is also expected to change into another dress for her evening reception. Alice could well be designing this dress, with Sarah Burton designing the actual wedding dress.
With just 26 days left to go…the excitement is mounting. Fashion-Mommy will keep readers informed with developments as they happen.
