The teen choice awards took place last night, and there were some fantastic fashion looks on display. Her are my favourite looks of the event.
I just love Emma’s style – I think she is a definite contender for all the best dressed lists when they are compiled. Her Dior metallic striped dress was just perfect for the event. It has a young and fun 1960s feel that looked dressy, without being overdressed.
Taylor Swift in Rafael Cennamo.
Taylor channelled Marilyn Monroe in a lovely white halter neck dress by Rafael Cennamo. She looked, as pretty as a picture, as always, and with fresh make-up and simply styled hair, this was another great red carpet look.
Not a fan of the horrendous Twilight movies, but really impressed by Nikki Reed wearing a flowing Etro maxi dress. This showed thinking outside the box – an unusual dress, a less well-known designer and boho styling. Top marks from Fashion-Mommy.
Cat looks more like a Californian girl now, rather than a native Brummie, and boy can we be proud of her. She always seems to get it right. This Matthew Williamson mini dress follows the rules that if you show legs, cover the rest up. It is just so pretty, with the emphasis on lace. Tumbling blonde curls and endless legs complete this look.
Blake Lively in Gucci
Blake rips up the rule book by wearing a dress that on paper, sounds like a disaster, but in reality, is absolutely amazing. Bright orange leather doesn’t sound like the holiest of combinations, but the simplicity of the design means this works beautifully. The animal print shoes are another good touch.
Regular readers of this page know that I love Zooey’s retro style. This Miu Miu dress and shoes are no exception. Zooey is just born to wear Miu Miu, they should’ve asked her to front their latest campaign, not 14-year-old Hailee Steinfeld. I love this pretty prom style dress on Zooey. and with red lips, she was on fire!
I don’t know who designed the outfit that Ashley Fink from Glee wore, and I’m not over impressed with the grey leggings (black would’ve been better!) but I am so impressed with the rest of this 1960s style outfit. Ashley is another stylish star flying the flag for curvier ladies on the red carpet. I love the embellished collar on the dress, and the absolutely gorgeous wedges.
