The Seventies trend shows no sign of disappearing. The recent SAG awards saw Angelina Jolie, Tilda Swinton and Rose Byrne all embrace 1970s trends in dress. But what about shoes? I personally adore the variety of shoe styles available from the 1970s. By this, I’m not talking Noddy Holder or Ziggy Stardust type shoes, but the stacked heeled, cork heeled sexy platforms that were usually in natural colours like tan and browns. These were shoes that have stood the test of time, and are still worn to great effect by the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Kim Kardashian and Jessica Biel.
I have recently discovered the French shoe stylist Spartoo. Spartoo have an amazing range of shoes from many different brands, including Fornarina, Clarks and Rocket dog. They currently have an array of gorgeous 70s style sandals, from platforms to wedges. I think you should make a pair of these shoes your first buy of the new season. They elongate legs, look great against tanned skin and are so versatile. Look at how fabulous Lauren Conrad looks in a simple dress and stacked heels.
Here are my picks from Spartoo.
I adore the reptile skin and dark wood combination of these heels. This gives them a definite evening feel.
If ever a shoe represented seventies style, it would be the platform wedge. Kate Moss adores these and they are a truly comfortable option.
These Gracie brown suede sandals from Clarks have the look of Jennifer Hudson’s chunky heels. I MUST HAVE THESE!
Pastels are so hot for the new season, and these baby pink sandals are just so pretty.
Showstoppers! Wear these vintage, retro styled peep toes and have all attention focused on your feet!
