One of the greatest things about blogging is that you find out about fantastic new brands and meet the amazing creative forces behind them. A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Lucy Hoodless, the brains behind new lingerie company Lulu Lonsdale.
Lulu Lonsdale is a lingerie company committed to making a difference in the competitive undies market. The company was born from Lucy’s frustration at buying bras in what was deemed an unusual size. She was told that she would always have problems in purchasing ‘nice’ underwear, something that just seemed ridiculous and totally unfair to Lucy. But, through research, Lucy discovered that she wasn’t the only one having problems in purchasing beautiful lingerie. Women with breast augmentations were also encountering problems, as were women with smaller backs, plus sizes, and women of colour.
And so Lulu Lonsdale was born. A company that offers a variety of beautiful lingerie in sizes that range from 28c to 46J for bras, and sizes 6-22 for knickers. Because so many bras are badly fitted they offer a bespoke fitting service and measuring consultations. Ranges from Best Form, Being You and Miss Mandalay are available, showing that you shouldn’t be restricted to tacky fabrics and restricted colours just because you need a larger size. Being You offers bright and vibrant colours that compliment darker skintones, and also look at the issue of flesh coloured underwear for women of colour. These are undies in the softest of silks and lace in rich colour ways that increase choice for thousands of women who are currently unhappy with what the High Street provides.
I think Lucy is onto a real winner with Lulu Lonsdale. As someone who has a larger bust I find it difficult sometimes to find the variety in colours and fabrics on the High Street. Lulu has gathered together a fantastic and diverse group of designers who will offer just the variety and choice that ALL women deserve. Hail the new Queen of Undies!
