I wonder how many Fashion-Mommy readers have a Tesco Clubcard? I'm guessing the answer is that quite a lot of you do, with Tesco being the UK's number one supermarket. But for those of you who haven't yet filled in the form to get your card, let me enlighten you. Tesco Clubcard is a simple to use reward card. It is free to join and has been described as 'a great way of getting something back-simply for shopping.' You collect points each time you shop at Tesco, fill up with petrol at a Tesco station, order products from Tesco online and Tesco direct. Every 150 clubcard points is converted into a voucher for £1.50, meaning the more you spend, the more you get back. You can then spend the vouchers in store and online.
So far, so good. Money off your shopping for doing your shopping. Good, but not exactly mind blowing. But what if I said that you could convert those vouchers to special Clubcard rewards, and that suddenly each £5 voucher could become the equivalent of £20 of rewards. Have I got your interest now?
So what exactly is a clubcard reward? The answer is that it could be anything, and at the moment you can experience some pretty glamorous beauty treatments, night outs at the Theatre and meals in great restaurants simply by redeeming those rewards. There are currently over 600 rewards to choose from, so you will always be able to find that perfect treat for yourself or a loved one.
I've just recently joined Clubcard and to start with I was going to use my vouchers to take some money off my shopping bill, or maybe get the occasional treat from F&F. That was until I discovered how I could actually convert my vouchers into rewards. And two words really swayed the argument for me. 'BRAND ALLEY'. I couldn't believe that for every £10 voucher, I could have £20 to spend on designer bargains at Brand Alley. And then it just got better. My favourite new restaurant in Birmingham, Browns Brasserie was part of the scheme, and £5 in clubcard vouchers could be converted to a £20 token, perfect for a great lunch during my next shopping trip. I was really hoping to see Legally Blonde when it toured the UK, so what better than redeeming £13 worth of vouchers in order to get a ticket?
If that all sounds a little bit girlie, I make no excuses. But it is not all about the ladies. You can use your vouchers for Action and activity days, Virgin travel club airmiles, entry to theme parks like Alton Towers and Cinema tickets. And there are wonderful gifts you can use your vouchers to purchase, from chocolate from Thorntons to jewellery from Goldsmiths. The Clubcard rewards site is a wonderful Aladdins Cave of treats just selected to spoil you.
