I am a high heels sort of girl. I wear heels all the time, and often feel under-dressed on the occasions that I wear flats. But lately I feel like my feet have been suffering. Too many days spent rushing through towns in unsuitable shoes have left me having to carry a pair of flatties in my bag at all times, ready to slip them on when my feet say ‘enough’.
This has led me to look for the Holy Grail of shoes, something that has a heel, looks amazing, but is also comfortable enough for me to wear all day, without having to resort to flat shoes at some point in my day. Step forward Boohoo.com, and the wonderful ‘Betty Purple Block Suedette Heels‘.
These shoes have totally induced shoe lust in me since I first laid eyes on them.
They basically tick all the boxes. They have a real 1970s feel that I always find hard to resist, and the colour is a really vibrant purple that will look fab against so many other colours. They are also surprisingly versatile. I have already been able to wear these with a little black dress, they added a splash of colour that lifted the whole outfit. I’ve also worn them with flared jeans and a t-shirt for a more casual look and this looked great too. I’m going to colour clash them with green this weekend – I think this will look amazing!
These are totally showstopping shoes, but..drumroll please..they are really comfortable too. The platform makes them far easier to walk in than normal heels, as does the chunkier heel. The peep toe is wide enough not to pinch toes, whilst the Mary Jane style strap adds support to your foot, and has elasticity which makes it feel really comfortable, even when you have been wearing the shoes for some time. I also found these less heavy than usual platform heels.
I really, really love these shoes. They are just so stylish and wearable, I’m struggling to take them off! If you like these platforms, here are a few more from Boohoo that might also take your fancy. Just look at the fabulous colours!
