Late on Tuesday evening the email I’d been waiting for dropped into the Inbox – an invite to the Nelly.com launch party. This was the much-anticipated launch to the exciting online company that is already the toast of Scandinavia, and is now set to conquer the UK. To be held in the luxurious surroundings of Aqua, this was a party not to be missed.
And of course, it surpassed all expectations. The whole of Aqua had been the willing victim of a Nelly takeover. There was a nail bar treating guests to glittering manicures, rails of gorgeous dresses from the likes of AX Paris to drool over, and then there shoes! Shoes, shoes were everywhere, from fabulous platforms to spiked loafers. Guests were asked to choose their three favourite pairs of shoes, and to log this information onto the laptops provided. Nelly then promised to send guests one of their choices. And if that wasn’t enough, whilst waiting for the laptops, guests were treated to gifts of jewellery, strawberry Bellini cocktails and chilled wine, and assorted canapes of sushi.
After the excitement of free shoes, there was the photobooth with a variety of backdrops to help guests create hilarious mementoes of a wonderful evening. Radio One DJ Gemma Cairney was on hand with an amazing setlist which had everyone dancing, and I was able to have a quick chat with her later when we compared blisters and unsuitable shoes.
This was a fantastic party, a brilliant launch for Nelly.com in the UK. Push PR did an amazing job of making sure that this was one of the most talked about and tweeted about events of the year. I had an amazing time, and was really happy to see some of my favourite bloggers, Marina from I type and talk, Becky from lifestyleflash and Karen from Frumpy to Funky. I was also overwhelmed to meet Jai’me Jan aka Jaime London Boy who edits the fabulous boymeetsfashion.
With huge thanks to Melissa from Push PR for the invitation.
