Reviewed – Olivia Accessories Art Deco Bangle

November 23rd, 2012

One of the greatest things about being a blogger is that you sometimes get offered the opportunity to review an item from a site you may have been unfamiliar with. This is what happened to me when I was asked to review an item from Olivia Accessories –  a fashion jewellery and accessories site. This site is simply choked full with beautiful items that would make the perfect gift for Christmas, the perfect accessory for your little black dress, or just a payday treat after a tough week at work.

The piece I chose was the stunning Pierced Art Deco Crossover bangle. This was something that appealed to me as I totally love all things Art Deco,  a huge trend this season after the success of Downton Abbey and with the upcoming Great Gatsby movie released at Christmas. The geometric and diamond patterns are a total node to the 1920s/1930s era, but the opulence of this design also brings to mind Kiera Knightley in the latest remake of Anna Karenina.

The bangle is a real statement piece, very eye catching in design, and wonderfully sparkly with it’s array of diamante stones covering the front of the piece. It has the feel of a great vintage find – something that may have belonged to a great grandmother, and yet looks great dressing up jeans, or adding sparkly to a black tuxedo suit.

The bangle is also well made. I particularly liked the very gentle swing action of the opening, this is not likely to trap skin as some bangles can do. And despite the total bargain price of just £16, this bangle has some weight to it, something that totally belies the really good price point.

I have been really impressed with the quality of Olivia Jewellery – here are a few more pieces to savour.
