Michelle Heaton launches the Aegon Classic Ladies Day

March 26th, 2013

Yesterday I braved the snow and ice for a very special launch event that was taking place in Birmingham. In the glamorous confines of the In House Bar in Birmingham’s House of Fraser, the Aegon Classic Ladies Day was officially launched with Bucks Fizz, canapes and a very glamorous ambassador.

The very beautiful Michelle Heaton from Liberty X was unveiled as the official face of this years ladies day, and a more wonderful and apt person could not have been chosen. Michelle recently faced a very difficult health decision after she found she had an 80% chance of developing breast cancer due to the mutated BRCA2 gene. Michelle had a double mastectomy in November, and has since done much to raise awareness of breast cancer, breast surgery and reconstruction. With Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer the official charity of the Aegon Classic Ladies Day this year, Michelle offered a poignant reminder that breast cancer continues to  need further research and awareness.

Michelle looked amazing, having been styled in a wonderful Mary Portas dress from House of Fraser. Slim, tanned and toned, she looked the picture of health and spoke warmly of her excitement about the Aegon Classic Ladies Day event, and how this was going to be a real girls day out, talking of how she was going to bring her mother and friends on the day. She was then happy to mingle and chat with the guests, happily posing for photographs and discussing the terrible weather!

The Ladies’ Day at the Aegon Classic is taking place on Thursday 13 June at the Edgbaston Priory Club. For more information on tickets, please visit www.aegonclassic.co.uk/tickets or call 0844 209 7359.

  1. Fabulous Event with equally Fabulous Guests……………

  2. Great dress, this colour seems to be haunting me. You look like you had a fab time Emma?

I did Geraldine, it was a really lovely afternoon. And yes, Michelle did look amazing. I, on the other hand, had rushed from the school run, and had also been wearing a very unflattering hat to ward off the cold weather – hence the lack of make-up and the hat hair!
