Are legends born, or made? An interesting question I think, and beer giant Heineken® thought so too. They decided to try to discover the answer as part of its latest global campaign ‘Voyage’, by undertaking a daring experiment. The test is ‘what are men really made of when taken from the norm and dropped into the great unknown?’
Real life, all-round fabulous people will be chosen to go on a legendary adventure, the opportunity of a lifetime. A test resourcefulness, strength and will power. But this adventure is no holiday. You could be stranded alone in the freezing wilderness of Alaska, on a glacier, with nothing but a giant life-ring, a tuxedo and a plane ticket home – with the airport hundreds of miles away.
Sounds interesting? Well, this my friends is ‘Voyage’, a new campaign from premium beer brand Heineken® taking different men and dropping them in remote places with nothing but the most basic of supplies and directions. The result is ‘Dropped’ – a series of adventures following brave explorers on their travel experiences.
‘Voyage’ is the fifth instalment of the Heineken ‘Legends’ platform. Via the Heineken® Dropped YouTube channel viewers will be able to follow each ‘Dropped’ voyage, through documentary style film footage, whilst also having the chance to share their own footage in a sort of audition for their own ‘Dropped’ adventure.
‘Dropped’ travel adventures are unique for each participant, each will face different challenges and fears. You can follow your favourite protagonist as they face their adventures. It promises to be truly exciting as the ‘Dropped’ make their way home. ‘New legends aren’t made, they’re Dropped.’
