My second review from the new F&F True range, following that winning pair of jeans (check out that review here), is back on more familiar ground. Yes folks, I am reviewing a dress. In this case it is a dress that catches the eye with its bright and beautiful print and colours. This dress is the Floral Panelled Scuba Dress.
I really liked this dress initially due to the pattern. I love florals in Spring, and this was a beautifully vibrant colour combination, the sort I enjoy wearing – I have no fear of bright colours. I also love Philip Armstrong scuba style dresses. I had one from a previous collection from F&F Clothing, and it quickly became a wardrobe favourite, so I was really looking forward to seeing how well this dress delivered on its promise.
And the verdict? Oh my, how much do I love this dress? The colours are just as vivid and vibrant as I hoped they would be, whilst the side panel gives this an illusion dress finish. I was worried that the length might be too short on me (I’m 5ft7), but it was a really nice length, finishing just above the knee. I am also a fan of the 3/4 sleeves, hiding a part of the arm that most women, Michelle Obama aside, like to cover up if possible.
The Scuba material actually helps define and cinch your body shape, I actually felt slimmer in this dress (this is size 18 – I found this the perfect size for me). This is a perfect occasion dress – work – just add a blazer, evening out – High heels. It doesn’t really need much in the way of accessories as the print really stands out and doesn’t require further embellishment. I wore this dress to a beauty event at Harvey Nichols on Wednesday night and it got a lot of compliments – which is just what you like when wearing a new dress.
Here are a few more of the pieces I love.
