Love Kazoops – now get the music.

[affilinet_performance_ad size=468×60]

If your child is a fan of the CBeebies series Kazoops, the chances are that they absolutely love the music. So I have a little good news for you and your little ones, because the music is now available to buy or download. Children’s TV producer, Cheeky Little Media released ‘Just Imagine – Volume 1’ last Friday This first album is made up of a total of 20 songs from the Kazoops series, and will also be available as individual downloads on many digital service providers including iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Pandora and Youtube.

Kazoops is very popular with the under 7s, and the wonderful songs are a big reason for the popularity. For those who are not familiar with the series, Kazoops is all about Monty, a six-year-old boy who challenges life’s questions both big and small with the help of his imagination and with his best friend, Jimmy Jones, who just happens to be his pet pig. In each episode, the duo enters make-believe worlds to challenge everyday preconceptions such as ‘do things have to be the same all the time?’ The songs that accompany each adventure are so clever and funny that they appeal to adult listeners as well as their captivated child audience.

Patrick Egerton, Executive Producer, Cheeky Little Media, commented: “Music pervades Kazoops at all levels, and not just because each episode contains a unique song…The seed of the series concept came from our song writer and performer Scott Langley. He had written these amazing songs about a boy and a pig who went on imaginary journeys. When we heard how ‘grown-up’ the music was, and how clever and funny Scott’s lyrics were, we knew we had the start of something cool for a pre-school audience. The songs are key to the show, and give us these visually rich adventures at the centre of each episode that are crucial to the story but can also stand alone as mini-music videos in their own right.”

You can find all the songs available on download at Amazon.

M&Co Glitter and sparkle for the party season

I’ve seen a great meme this morning, which says ‘on the stroke of midnight – Christmas carols everywhere.’ Because of course, on the stroke of midnight, we are then into November, and with the Oxford Street lights being switched on next weekend, we really can start to look towards Christmas, and our party season wardrobes.

Today I am turning my attention towards M&Co, who always seem to pull something pretty and sparkling out of the bag when it comes to Christmas. This year, they have all the bases covered, with Art Deco style beading and flapper dresses, lace shift styles and plisse pleats on both dresses and tops, and dresses with the most beautiful kimono sleeves.

I love that the dresses are knee length, and that classic black is celebrated, but isn’t the only option – we also have beautiful dresses in teal and magenta shades. Plus, if your thing is to wear a gorgeous top with a pair of skinny jeans and heels, M&Co also has this covered with sparkly sequinned and metallic designs that will be perfect for after work drinks.

I have chosen a selection of my favourite looks from M&Co. Currently there are a lot of money off offers on their website, which you can check out here. You can also get free UK delivery on orders over £40, and can currently get 25% off full price items using the code WISH25. It is also worth checking out the website as it is full of online exclusive items that you cannot find in store.

Back To School DIY Homework Makeover Challenge

One of the battles that parents face is getting their children to do their homework. Once the school day is over, most children just want to put the school bag away, take off their uniform, and then forget about school until the next day. But homework is just so important, especially as it gives children a sense of independence when it comes to learning. Creating a special area within your home where you child can work could be one step towards encouraging a positive attitude towards homework.

Action Storage who create staff lockers that are perfect for adult work spaces, have been challenging bloggers to create an interesting work space for their child, one which would make your child feel happy and proud of, but would also be conducive to learning. This has collided happily with Joe moving into year 3, where he is currently working on a collaborative healthy lifestyles project that has to be done outside of school time. Although Joe is very good at practicing his reading and spellings, this is a different sort of homework, one which requires a desk and working space, and so I have created a space for Joe in my old office, which I tend not to use so much in times where I can work on my laptop in front of the telly. (I know – bad example!)

The room is still a work in practice, with some boxes that still need to be moved, but Joe now has a desk space, with room for his laptop, stationary and some of his books. There is space for Joe to write, and plenty of storage boxes for all those weird and wonderful things that boys tend to collect. There are also personal memento’s – the foil picture was made by Joe’s great grandad, it was his hobby to make these but this is the only one I have. The two Winnie the Pooh watercolours were created by a friend who was a local artist, so these are very unique and special too.

Joe is really happy to have a working space now – hopefully this will be all the encouragement needed to get that homework done!
