An evening of shopping and Fizz at Tommy Hilfiger, The Mailbox

Last week I attended a super stylish event at Tommy Hilfiger in Birmingham’s stunning Mailbox.  The event was a perfect excuse to preview the new Spring/Summer collections whilst enjoying food treats from Tom’s Dinner and a chilled glass of Champagne. You could also take advantage of 20% off any purchases on the night, allowing you to update your wardrobe and save some pennies.

The Tommy Hilfiger store in The Mailbox is a bright shiny store that is a gorgeous back drop to the classic, nautical and preppy designs that are the trademark of TH. This season there are lots of great pieces featuring stripes and pretty prints, as well as designs in bold, bright colours, yellow, navy, white and red. The designs are crisp, clean, elegant and totally timeless, statement pieces that you will be able to enjoy for many summer’s to come.

On the evening you could also enjoy a personalised monogramming service, which proved to be extremely popular. Another popular selection were the sunglasses from the collection with current fashion darling Gigi Hadid.

Below are some of my favourite picks from the current collection, I would love to know your thoughts.

The plain wedges are very Kate Middleton.

How incredible is this mac? It would look so good over jeans, belted nonchalantly.

This is quite an unexpected piece from Tommy Hilfiger, a move away from the stripes and block colour, but very floaty and pretty.

This basket was a really popular piece, it is just so holiday friendly.

Bardot style dresses and tops are showing no signs of disappearing, which is great as I’ve never heard anyone say they didn’t like their shoulders.

One of my faves, this dress is such a classic piece. Team it with white plimsolls to dress it down.

That bag = total lust.

This dress, which also comes in white, has such a tennis/sporty aesthetic.

Classic Tommy Hilfiger.

Review – Rosie Lace Skater Dress from Celuu

Last week I wrote an introductory post about Celuu, a British brand that provides grown up, sophisticated clothing for women who really don’t want to dress as teenagers. (You can read that post here) I promised in that post that I would soon be reviewing one of their pieces myself, and here it is. The dress I chose was the Rosie Lace Skater Dress, a beautiful piece that I think would be perfect for a late Spring/early Summer wedding. This is a dress that makes me feel graceful and elegant, and that is something I don’t say that often.

This is a skater style dress but with a difference. Skater styles are often short and flirty, but as you can see, this is actually more midi length on me (I’m 5ft7inches). The fabric is heavier than you might expect, giving it shape, and the dress is fully lined, which makes it a great choice if you need something more demure and formal, e.g. a church wedding or a Christening.

Keeping with the demure theme, the dress has a v neckline, but doesn’t reveal any cleavage, and the short sleeves are not tight fitting, making this dress comfortable as well as beautiful. The blue shade is deep and vibrant, making it perfect to team with an equally vibrant primary shade like the red I have chosen, or a sunshine yellow.

The lining is a very soft grey, which contrasts well against the blue of the dress, and the addition of knitted jersey for the lining means that the dress is comfortable and very forgiving if you are planning on having a big meal. The dress is also true to size, I actually sized up and so the dress is slightly big, this is generously cut so you can keep to your size.

Celuu are still running their competition to win a new wardrobe from £1000. You can enter by clicking on the link below.

March Outfit Post #WIWT

Another month has been and gone, and I have to say, where is the year going? March is always a month I dread. Sure, I love the coming of Spring, the lighter nights and sunny days that we did get to enjoy last month. But with all that comes a month of birthdays – my dad, my brother, my brother in law and my hubby. It makes March a very expensive month.

So thank goodness that Spring also brings more sales, and I have been able to pick up some real bargains over the last month, both online and in store. The charity shops have also been amazing, I have already highlighted some of my best finds, including the fabulous Burberry mac that I got for £15. (You can find that post here). This post is also about shopping your wardrobe – the F&F coatigan is an old fave that I reviewed some time ago, and was great as a cover up for a night at the theatre. Other old faves include my Pearl Lowe for Peacocks tea dress – surely that was one of the best high street collabs ever? The dresses are still so wearable and look glam, and I’m pleased to say I have four still in my wardrobe.

As ever, I have put links to some of my new season buys that are still available online, I would definitely check out the sale at Topshop which is still a real winner with plenty of lines still being added. Boohoo is also a brilliant place to shop the sales, my strapless dress was a real bargain.

Did you get any fashion bargains in March?
