Blonde Hair treats from John Freida

Your hair is often described as your crowning glory, but in reality, it can often be the bane of your life. My hair is long and blonde, so far, so good. But it is super fine and flyaway, and the blonde is a dull, dirty dishwater blonde rather than a glorious Daryl Hannah in Splash mermaid shade. But, as I have been stating in quite a few posts recently, nature sometimes needs a helping hand, and the John Frieda Sheer Blonde range of products does just that.

The John Frieda Sheer blonde range promises to do a range of jobs for your hair. As well as the usual washing and conditioning, and shampoo and conditioner also claim to lighten your hair, gradually giving you a sunkissed blonde look. As my hair had been looking a little dull lately, I was happy to try out the range, and have to say I love it, and will be using it again and again, especially as it is perfectly acceptable, and even encouraged, to use the products daily – something I have to do due to the oiliness of my hair.

Sheer Blonde Lightening Shampoo and Lightening Conditioner

The first thing you notice about these products is that they smell incredible – it has been infused with Citrus and Chamomile and this creates a beautiful fresh scent. There is no need to do anything special, you just wash your hair in the normal way, working the shampoo through, and then rinse off. My hair did feel so soft afterwards, and looked silky too, especially as I combined this daily with the conditioner, something I don’t always do as I wash my hair so often.

The lightening is a gradual thing, but after a week of washing I could tell that my hair was getting lighter, and I loved the fact that despite the fact that I was washing my hair most days, it continued to feel soft. (Sometimes the washing can leave the ends very dry). Having the two products has also encouraged me to condition my hair more regularly.

Hi-Impact Vibrancy Restoring Oil Elixir

As well as lightening and maintaining your colour, the John Frieda range also has products that will mend and strengthen your hair. The Hi-Impact Vibrancy Restoring Oil Elixir is a very easy product to use, you simply work through the length of your hair when it is damp and then blow dry as usual. I was a little concerned about using an oil based product on oily hair, but was happy that this did not leave any residue or make my washed hair feel more oily.

The scent has that fresh out of the salon fragrance, and the pump action bottle allows you to use just as much as you need without waste.  This is a real treat for your hair, living it shiny and healthy looking, and is a good treatment for brittle and damaged hair.

Have you ever tried the John Frieda Sheer Blonde products?

Rush Hair – A fabulous Destination for great looking hair

On Monday I was invited to the Rush Hair salon on Birmingham’s Corporation Street for a look around and a bit of a pamper. This is a salon that I was supposed to visit in December, but then illness decided to pay a visit and I had to cancel, so I was very happy to get another invite and to meet the fabulous stylist Tina, who looked after me and gave me the lowdown on all things Rush.

Rush are a British hairdressing phenomenon. Currently with 87 salons in the UK, and hoping to double that in 2017, The salon group was formed by two brothers in 1999, and has won 13 British Hairdressing Awards and various other industry awards since then.  They have also worked behind the scenes of British Fashion Week and have also built up a celebrity clientele. Clearly Rush is a brand that is going places.

The Birmingham salon is bright and modern looking, with a great amount of space. I loved the fact it was so roomy – the hair stations are far apart so you don’t have to listen to the conversations of the people sitting next to you, nor does it have that cramped feeling that some salons have. The wash area is seperate from the main styling zone which is another great touch and makes the salon feel special – who really wants to be on full view when they are having their hair washed.

My stylist Tina listened to what I was looking for concerning my hair – a good trim that would get rid of splits ends and strengthen hair, but I still wanted to be able to tie it all back in a pony tail when it comes to the school run. She advised against lots of layers, explaining that my very fine hair would look thicker if it was one length, and also recommended a treatment that would give my hair a nourishing treat. (If you are looking for another way to thicken long hair – you could take a look at hair extensions of course.)

Tina showed me a good length for my hair that would remove the dead ends and got on with the cutting. We were able to chat whilst she did my hair, and I was also given a drink and magazines. The whole session felt very relaxed and chilled and I was super impressed with the results – my hair looked and felt beautiful.

You can find your nearest Rush Salon here I would definitely recommend a visit soon.

Exploring Hair Loss Treatment

It is often described as a person’s crowning glory, so for many people there could be nothing worse for their appearance than the loss of their hair. Both men and women can suffer from hair loss, and whilst some men embrace this by shaving their head completely and pulling off that sexy Jason Statham look, for other men, and women in particularly, this can be a problem that can lead to lack of self esteem, a loss of confidence and a general feeling of inadequacy. But hair loss doesn’t have to be permanent, and there are things that can be done to halt the proceeds.

In a previous post, I talked about my nan, who suffered from alopecia after suffering complications from surgery on her foot when I was just a child. In that post I explored hair transplant procedures, including the non-evasive FUE hair transplants. However, these sorts of treatments are not for everyone – they can be expensive, and not everyone will want to go down a surgery style route in order to encourage hair regrowth. For these people, a treatment like the Regaine Hair Loss treatment could be another solution.

Regaine is a hair loss treatment that both helps to prevent hair loss and encourages regrowth (this has been clinically proven). Regaine has treatments that are aimed at men and women. The female treatment works by using Minoxidil. Regaine explains that:-

“…Minoxidil works by increasing the supply of blood and nutrients to your hair follicles helping to strengthen the existing hairs and encouraging them to grow.”

The Regaine for women is very easy to apply – it has the look of a hair mousse and just needs to be used once a day, being applied by being massaged into the scalp on the affected area.

For men, the treatment needs to be applied twice a day, and results will usually start to appear after about 16 weeks.

Hair loss is no longer something that has to be put up with, there are options that can help you to prevent the loss, or encourage regrowth. Regaine may just be the answer to your hair loss problems.
