July Outfit Post

July was my favourite month of the year so far. This was because I spent half of the month in wonderful Cyprus, and, more importantly, I got to see my little brother get married. It was a month of sunshine and fun, and, to top it all off, there was a sleepover at Warwick Castle and a theatre night too. A busy month that was full of fun.

My outfits this month all suggest sunny days and a warm climate, which makes perfect sense as Cyprus was going through a bit of a heatwave at the time (40 degrees plus most days – basically melting weather). There are new buys from Spanish favourites Mango and Zara as these are always brands I stock up on when I’m abroad, along with new pieces that I picked up before I went away that may well now be in the Summer sales that seem to be everywhere, in the most jumble sale fashion. Where I can link to an item or something similar I have done just in case you want to check it out for yourself, although looking out the window this morning, it seems like British Summer time came and went a few weeks ago, and the rain is now set in.

What did you do in July? Have you had your summer holiday yet?

Saving Money Shopping At Debenhams

I had an interesting conversation with a friend yesterday on the subject of shopping. I am most definitely a shopaholic, I love the thrill of moving from shop to shop and being able to find a wide range of bargains. My idea of heaven is still a High Street with a good mixture of stores selling a variety of products. But my friend firmly explained that my idea of heaven is her idea of hell. She elaborated that when she shops, she prefers a traditional department store where she can pretty much shop for the whole family, and for the household, in one visit.  She also feels the same when it comes to online shopping. She would prefer to visit a site like Debenhams where she can find everything she needs and have it all delivered in one easy transaction. The good news is that shopping online in this way can also lead to a whole host of savings, some of which are not available in store.

If you are planning on shopping at Debenhams, I would always recommend that you take a look at the offers and voucher codes that are currently available at My Favourite Voucher Codes. (Debenhams have their own page of offers https://www.myfavouritevouchercodes.co.uk/debenhams-voucher-codes ). Offers are updated on a regular basis and are very varied, they cover all departments and can be money off offers, free delivery options and also updates of all the current sales.  There are also secret voucher codes, and the option of guilt free shopping as My Favourite Voucher Codes donates 20% of its net profits to charity.

I must admit the conversation with my friend did get me thinking about the convenience of doing all my shopping online using just one site. Currently I am shopping for my next Summer holiday which is in Cyprus in June. It also happens to be the destination for my brother’s wedding, so I have quite a checklist of items to buy. This includes a wedding outfit suitable for a very hot climate, new swimwear for myself and Joe, some new sundresses, a pair of sandals with a low or kitten heel suitable for the wedding, and tailored shorts for both Joe and my hubby Pete. After a quick browse it is obvious I can find all of these things at Debenhams, with up to 30% off swimwear and designer dresses, which is pretty handy.

I love the Floozie range by Frost French, in particular the Bardot style swimsuit below which is just so bright and tropical.

I also love this strapless printed costume from The Collection. It has tummy control due to a hidden panel in the front, and costs less than £20, making it a very pretty bargain buy.

In terms of a beautiful dress from my brother’s wedding, Debenhams has so many beautiful dresses that could totally fit the bill.

The fabulous Racing Green Collection, which Ben Fogle has been unveiled as the new face of, is full of cool, stylish tailored shorts that would be perfect for a wedding abroad.

Celebrity style focus – Karen Millen

There is a British label that has become a bit of a stalwart of the red carpet, despite being a High Street Favourite. The label is an international success story with stores in 65 countries, as well as thousands of  concessions in stores like House of Fraser. That label is Karen Millen and it combines tailoring with beautiful evening wear, and you can currently find a whole list Karen Millen sales available at Love the Sales.

In recent years Karen Millen has become a popular celebrity choice. It’s number one fan is possibly Eva Longaria. The Desperate Housewives star is a perfect fit for the Karen Millen label, glamorous, stylish and fun. The figure hugging dresses and glamorous fabrics have been worn to perfect effect by the petite star, but she is not the only one to enjoy the Karen Millen effect, with Nicole Scherzinger and Ugly Betty’s America Ferrera also looking gorgeous in the label.

Karen Millen has also proved a great choice for daytime TV presenters, with GMB stars Charlotte Hawkins and Laura Tobin also looking super stylish in Karen Millen’s versatile range of day dresses and jumpsuits.

In terms of cost, Karen Millen is the higher end of High Street, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a real bargain. If you use the Love the Sales site, you can find all the current savings on Karen Millen items across the internet, and this means you can find yourself a real bargain. The savings can be as much as 70%, which could mean you could treat yourself to something else, or buy something you might never afford at full price. I have been perusing the dresses (hard work but someone has to do it) and have picked out five of my current faves.
