Orla Kiely stoles back in stock at Uniqlo

It was one of the most sort after collections on the High Street last year, and the great news is that Uniqlo’s fab Orla Kiely scarves are now back in stock…at least they are for now. A massive sell out last time around, the scarves/stoles featured Orla’s unique, vintage style prints but at amazing Uniqlo prices.

The Uniqlo/Orla Kiely collaboration is quite simply splendid. The Irish-born designer already has a huge following, with the Duchess of Cambridge and Pippa Middleton amongst her fans, and yet Uniqlo was able to offer the fantastic style and prints at amazing High Street prices. The stoles were amongst the most popular items, proving perfect to be layered over the Heatech long-sleeved t-shirts that were also in the collection. And now they’re back, ready to be a sell out all over again!

Rupert Sanderson at Spartoo

Be still my beating heart! That genius of shoe design, Rupert Sanderson, is now at my fave online shoe retailer, Spartoo, and I must admit that I am so excited.  The man who combines the best of Italian craftsmanship with his own unique, and often avant-garde design is one of my favourite designers. And with awards such as the British Fashion Councils Accessory Designer of the year and Elle’s Style Award for best accessory designer, this is clearly a man who understands that an outfit often stands and falls on the ability to choose the right footwear.

Spartoo is currently playing host to a whole range of Rupert’s amazing shoes, heeled sandals and boots. There are some seriously sey skyscraper heels – the sort that induce vertigo, but these also sit alongside very cool and sophisticated wedge heeled boots. I just adore the drama of the Flamente sandal, which have a very Spanish edge to them, whilst the Glen boots have unusual quilted detail that makes them stand apart from other boots.

And, if you are looking for a total bargain, that you will find it hard to stop stroking. let alone wear, how about the Treen, which now have an amazing 70%, reduced from £504.99 to just £151.50 – the bargain of 2013 maybe.

Reviewed – John Rocha mirror printed prom dress for Debenhams

January has been a time to try to shake off all those Christmas calories, and I have been trying numerous ways to do this. From lots of brisk walks during the school run, which seems to be getting longer and more arduous during this spell of bad weather, to considering the benefits of XLS Medical as an aid to weight loss, I’ve been trying all sorts of ways to shift some of those extra pounds. And it seems to have worked, I’ve already dropped a dress size in just a few weeks, something I’m quite proud of.

So, when I was offered the chance to choose a Debenhams dress as a gift, I decided to choose a style that I wouldn’t normally opt for, a prom dress style. And when I saw the Rocha John Rocha pink floral mirror printed prom dress, I fell instantly in love with it. It was just a perfect Mary Kantrantzou style, brightly coloured, with an interesting, digital print style design on the front.

This dress has a very flattering fit and flare style, with fitted, cinched in waistband, and then a flared skirt. The stiffish nature of the cotton means this dress has a natural shape, which in turn helps you achieve an hourglass style shape too.  The back zip is concealed, giving this a classy, neat edge, whilst a fully lined skirt stops this style from riding up when you sit down. And of course, the print is so eye-catching, and contains a range of colours that help you to match this to a whole range of accessories of different shades.

I teamed this dress with opaque tights and chunky heels, but think these could be easily abandoned in Summer and wedge sandals could be added. A cute cardigan can also give this look a 1950s feel, and is a good idea, if, like me, you are wearing your dress on a snowy day.

Rocha John Rocha is always one of my favourite ranges from Debenhams as I think it carries a range of beautiful pieces that both fit and flatter. This dress is no exception.
