I recently wrote a post about one easy way to add colour to your wardrobe by adding bright coloured dresses. In that post (which you can read here) I focused on a couple of my favourite colours, yellow and blue. But for some people, wearing something so ostentatious and eye-catching is just not an option. Not everyone feels confident enough to wear bright colours, preferring to stick to neutrals or a much darker palette. For those people, accessories are a much easier way to add a splash of brightness to an outfit, you can still keep to wearing black, white, beiges and browns, but with a little colour pop to lift everything.
Scarves, shoes and jewellery with coloured gemstones are some of the ways this can be achieved, but another great way is with a watch. This is something that most people wear every day, and so it is a really simple, yet totally effective way to add that zesty colour pop. The Watch Hut has some amazing designs at the moment, and the ones that have really caught my eye have a focus on the colour blue.
Here are a few of my favourite blue watches from The Watch Hut.
This Swatch watch is a cute, fun choice. Perfect for a teenager, or for everyday wear, I think this is a great bargain watch that is a lovely azure blue shade.
I wouldn’t be a blogger if I didn’t love a Michael Kors watch, and this one is an absolute beauty. The rose gold casing and strap contrasts so beautifully with the bold shade of blue. This is a mini version of this watch, I think it is delicate and elegant.
I’m a huge fan of Vivienne Westwood, and this watch appeals to both my love of Viv and my sense of fun. The iconic Orb design is instantly recognisable and looks fabulous when juxtaposed against that deep blue strap and case.
This Marc by Marc Jacobs watch is called the ‘Dinky’ and I think this is the perfect name for such a dainty watch. Again, the colour is just fabulous.
So, what are your thoughts on coloured watches – a do or a don’t?
