Pippa Middleton Gets Married

She became world famous at her big sister’s wedding, but today Pippa Middleton showed that she could be an incredibly beautiful bride in her own right when she married James Matthews in a lovely ceremony in St Mark’s Church in Englefield.

Wearing a stunning lace gown, which reputedly cost £40,000 and was designed by Giles Deacon, Pippa looked radiant, and, in a reverse of the royal wedding, she was looked after by big sister Kate, who shepherded the little bridesmaids and paige boys, which included Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Pippa rose to prominence as the perfect maid of honour at the royal wedding of William and Kate, and has proved to be something of a style icon since, always managing to look chic at a range of occasions.  Her wedding dress was beautiful and elegant, with a full skirt, high neckline and lattice style lace work.  Her chic updo also added to the effortless beauty of the whole look.

Here are some images from a very stylish country wedding.

Boho Inspiration from Duchess Kate

The successful Royal tour of India and Bhutan is now at an end, and it has to be said that watching Duchess Kate’s wardrobe has been an absolute joy. She has moved away from her regular, classic style and embraced an Eastern inspired wardrobe which has been a veritable feast of colour and boho inspiration.

Kate’s wardrobe has been a mixture of clever High Street Pieces and designer outfits, including a red Tory Burch kaftan style dress that was worn on exactly the same day by Hollywood star Drew Barrymore. The wardrobe worked so well for this tour, looking cool and relaxed in the hot temperatures, and very modern and young. The long sleeves. midi and maxi length skirts and beautiful prints are quite a departure from Kate’s regular looks, which often embrace block colour and neat elegance, but I have to say I totally approve, loving every single look.

Boho has been a big fashion story since the days of Talitha Getty in Marrakesh in the late 1960s, and we saw a big resurgence in the style when Sienna Miller emerged onto the fashion scene.  Boho is a Summer style that always works on holiday, at festivals and (if) we get a long hot summer, as thin cotton fabrics keep us looking and feeling cool.

Kate’s Indian and Bhutan wardrobe is easily achieved online and on the High Street at the moment, with Simply Be. in particular, having a fantastic range of affordable Boho dresses of all lengths and sizes. Topshop, Wallis and ASOS are also great ports of call if you are interested in recreating this look.

Duchess Kate’s recent style triumphs

It has been a busy few weeks for Duchess Kate, and, as ever, stylewise she has not put a fashion foot wrong. As we expect from the Duchess, lots of outfits worn previously have made an appearance, but there have been some beautiful new outfits too, not least the magnificent dress that Kate wore last night at a pre-tour dinner before the Duke and Duchess embark on a trip to India and Bhutan.

Kate’s beautiful dress was by Indian designer Saloni London, diplomatically paying tribute to their future hosts with this choice. I love this dress, which has the feel of a 1970s style maxi, with it’s sheer, flock style sleeves and bodice. The bodice has a lining so it is not too revealing on the Duchess, but the overall feeling is one of elegance and glamour, especially with accessories kept to a minimum.

Kate recently wore a new designer to her wardrobe, Eponine London, sporting a chic coral retro styled skirt suit that could’ve come straight from the wardrobe of Jackie Kennedy. This was a lovely young and fresh look for the Duchess, reminiscent of mod prints. The A line skirt and boxy top were a really great choice for Kate, this is one of her best daytime looks.

Another new look for Kate is the Erdem grey and lace coat that Kate wore for the Commonwealth Day ceremony earlier this year. She teamed it with a John Boyd hat and the look was exquisite and regal. This coat was a real show stopper and totally stole the show.
