– They Do Sunglasses Too. has long been a destination to visit if you were looking for a classy,  designer quality watch, so it is great to be able to report that the company now stocks a range of designer sunglasses, just in time for holiday season. The collection  of 390 styles includes iconic brands like Emporio Armani, Nike, Rayban and Storm, and in both male and female designs, so for people who love their sunglasses (i.e. me), this is a site to bookmark as the temperatures continue to rise.

I love my sunglasses, so when I was asked if I would like to do a review to celebrate the new ranges, there was no hesitation from me. I chose a pair from classic American design house Calvin Klein. Watchshop says of Calvin Klein:-

Calvin Klein eyewear incorporates innovative design details in fashion forward styles and bold colorations. This aspirational eyewear appeals to the urban, creative and independent individual.

I love the slightly vintage style of tortoiseshell glasses, the sort worn in the 1950s by sultry film stars like Sophia Loren and Gina Lollobridgida, so the Calvin Klein Collection CK7964S designs were always going to catch my eye. This design is neat and tidy, rather than the oversized look that took over in the 1960s, and the brown frame, contrasted against the black lenses are a super stylish look. They are also very comfortable to wear for long periods (they’ve been worn a lot this weekend) and look chic when worn with a dressy outfit, as well as worn casually with jeans.

Calvin Klein glasses are always well protected, arriving in a beautiful glasses case that will keep them safe in your handbag or stored at home in a drawer. They also have an official 12 month guarantee, definitely piece of mind when buying such an iconic piece of fashion. Plus, when you buy from, you get your glasses within 3 days of ordering by free delivery, and they have a 30 day returns policy, just in case you decide the design is not for you, although I don’t think that would happen with this particular pair of glasses – they are just so stylish.

Holiday Picks From Dorothy Perkins

It was one of the main anomalies in the fashion world, just as you actually enter a season (i.e. Summer), then the sales start for that particular season (i.e. the Summer sales). We are just two weeks into June, and many of us are yet to take our Summer hols, with those who love cancellation bargains yet to even book their hols. And yet, this week has seen a whole host of stores start their summer sales. Which is great news for those of us who need to grab a new swimsuit, or a beach bag, or a knockout sundress, and love a bargain.

If you are looking to do a little sales shopping this week, you need to head to the Love The Sales site, which has the lowdown on all the major sales as and when they happen. My eye has been on Dorothy Perkins as I have loved so many of the pieces in their Spring/Summer range, and with my holiday coming up in just over two weeks, I will be heading to the Dorothy Perkins sale in order to pick up a few treats to slip into my suitcase.

So what do I have my eyes on? Well, first up is a pretty sundress that comes in my favourite colour, yellow. It is suit so well and would look as good with heels as it would with jeweled flat sandals. I also love tea dresses, especially those with a 1940s look (think The Edge of Love with Sienna Miller and Kiera Knightley), so this floral print is another must have.

Next up its sandals. I quite like a design that has a classic look, and metallic elements are so great on holiday to reflect your suntan. The Faye sandal ticks all the boxes, whilst back home I would live in the Jane wedges, just high enough to look elegant.

A raffia or woven clutch bag is another addition to your wardrobe that has the perfect look for Summer. I love the pretty bow on the front of this one.

Camisole tops are brilliant are year around, worn under jackets and v-neck jumpers in Winter, but it is in Summer they really come into their own. Wear them with shorts, denim skirts and peg trousers for a myriad of stylish looks.

What things are you looking to add to your holiday wardrobe?

Summer In The City Sizzlers From Boden

In my last post I talked about staycations, and all the fun you can have if you are not going abroad this year. But the fact that you are not going away for a holiday does not mean that you can’t put together some very special looks for your Summer in the City. Weekend shopping trips with the girls, al fresco cocktails at your favourite bar, a picnic and some lounging time in the local park, all of this can be a chance to dress up in some of your new favourite pieces, in much the same way as Carrie Bradshaw always dressed up for New York.

Great British brand Boden have another impeccable Summer look book which is full of the sort of pieces that will live in your wardrobe forever, classic British styles that look fresh, crisp and clean. I have been looking through their current collections, and have put together three key looks that will serve you well this Summer, and probably next Summer too. All we need to hope for now is some lovely summer weather.

Weekend Casual – relaxing in the park

Although I’ve just said that Boden is full of classic British looks, this particularly look has its basis firmly in French Breton style. I love a navy stripe and this dress, with its pretty neckline and soft stretch jersey, is top of my current wishlist. I think it would look great with sandals or white plimsolls for a cute casual look. In this instance I have teamed it with the Eleana woven flat for a matchy look, and the mini tassel bag in a gorgeous punchy yellow – big enough to keep your money for an ice cream.

Cocktails on a Friday Night

Yellow is by far my favourite colour, and the Riviera dress is the perfect dress to wear whilst sipping your Pina Colada.  The gorgeous Octavia caged heels in navy make a lovely alternative to a black stilleto, whilst the stripy Vita clutch is fun and adds interest and pattern to the block colour.

Shopping trip with the girls

Culottes are a cool option for shopping, and certainly a great alternative for jeans when the days are warm. Add a pretty patterned cotton top and a pair of City appropriate sandals and you will look fresh even as your arms are filled with bargain after bargain as you make the most of those summer sales.
