Channel Meghan Markle This Christmas Party Season

I have a new style crush. On Tuesday Prince Harry delighted the nation when it was announced that he had finally popped the question to the divine American actress Meghan Markle. Meghan, the star of the hit series ‘Suits’  is a princess for the 21st century, mixed race, a feminist, sassy and independent, and the fact that they seem so well suited and totally in love is a really lovely story in our increasingly miserable times.

Meghan’s wardrobe is certainly going to be under scrutiny, and her winter white coat which she wore for the engagement announcement crashed the Line the Label website and showed that the ‘Kate Effect’ may well now be extending to Meghan too. That said, Meghan has already shown that she has style in spades and will probably be rivaling Kate’s fantastic wardrobe as she starts her official royal life.

Meghan is already an established face on the red carpet cycle and always looks immaculate in her choices. She looks amazing in vibrant colours, and works a long sleeved shift style in a modern way. I really can’t wait to see what she brings to the royal style file, but think it will be something that is more edgy and modern than the classic elegance that Kate opts for, more fitting for her role as the wife of someone further down the line to the throne.

I have been looking at Meghan’s red carpet choices, and think they provide some great inspiration for Christmas party dressing this season. A silver shift is a party classic that looks fabulous, especially when teamed with black accessories. Red is the perfect Christmas choice, and Boohoo has a massive range of red dresses of all styles, shapes and shades. If red or sparkle are not your thing, then you could opt for a classic black maxi dress, or a neutral shade that can fit any occasion.

A Printable Snowman Activity

One more day! Just one more day and we officially land in December, and then even the grumpiest of Bah! Humbugs have to acknowledge that it is very nearly Christmas. The tree can be put up without the chance of disapproving looks, the advent calendar can start to be opened, and you can get out all those strange drinks that you only ever drink at Christmas (Snowball, Advocat, Babycham – you know the ones.)

This year you can get into the Christmas spirit with some old-fashioned dice and card games provided by Betfair Slots. The printable game featured below is called roll a snowman and is a fun and simple game that all the family can enjoy together and is suitable for any number of players. So why don’t you turn off the TV and get involved with this printable dice game, enjoying Christmas fun in the old fashioned way – with not an i-pad in sight.

Review: 12 Days of Joy Gift Box

Nothing helps build up more excitement for Christmas like a festive advent calendar. But these days, many of us are ditching the chocolate treats and opting for a more luxurious option. One perfect example is this 12 Days of Joy Calendar, generously given to me by the online bingo experts at paddy power bingo.

The calendar features 12 glamorous pieces of jewellery, it is a truly beautiful surprise sat behind every window, just waiting to be revealed.Forget five gold rings, in this set you’ll get a silver plated necklace and bracelet as well as 10 beautiful and unique charms. Each of them with glamorous crystals from Swarovski. The set is lead and nickel free and is hypoallergenic.

What I like most about this set is that not all of the charms are focused on Christmas, yes most of them are related to the holiday seasons with snowflakes, Christmas tree, and embossed festive text some of the charms but there are charms that can be worn all year round.

I also love that the whole set is completely customisable, meaning that there are no set guidelines on how to dress up your necklace or bracelet – the choice is yours. You can choose to wear as many or as little charms as you like.

My favourite part of this set has to be the sapphire charm. It is the only charm that offers a dramatic pop of colour, yet is still small enough so it doesn’t completely overshadow all of the other pieces.

I’d say my least favourite charm would have to be the Joy, love, peace, believe, Christmas charm. Although the text makes up the whole of the charm, it is still very small and difficult to read, maybe a different phrase would have been better.
