A jewellery Review from Avenue 57

Have you ever visited the Avenue 57 website? Founded by the very lovely and very witty Fiona Blake, Avenue 57 is an outfit sharing website that has developed into quite a community of stylish women, sharing views on clothes, shopping and so much more. I have been sharing my outfits on Avenue 57 for almost two years now, I love the supportive nature of the site, the way you can ask other women for their honest opinions on clothes you are unsure of, your latest purchase, or just which boots to wear with which jeans.

As well as being a website to share outfits, Fiona has also developed a popular Avenue 57 shop. Selling a wide range of clothes, scarves and jewellery, the online shop is very popular amongst the ladies who post their looks, no doubt helped by Fiona modelling many of the key pieces to such great effect.  I had my own chance to do a little modelling for Avenue 57 when Fiona sent me a beautiful piece from the current jewellery collection.

The Floella necklace is a truly showstopping piece. A real showstopping necklace, the Floella comes in a spectrum of colours that ranges from red and navy blue, to this magnificent, zesty, almost neon green. I absolutely love adding a splash of colour to outfits, so this was the perfect choice for me.

The necklace arrived carefully wrapped in pretty pink tissue paper, perfect if you are buying this for a Mother’s Day gift. Once opened, I was thrilled with the lovely design. The Floella is made up of large stones, but with metal casing on the back so that this sits really nicely (and comfortably) on the neckline. The fastening has an extender, which means this can both address issues if you have a slightly thicker neck, or if you just want to wear it looser or tighter depending on your neckline. The colour makes this extremely eye catching, perfect if you want to dress up a more casual outfit.

I decided to wear this two ways to show off the different effects. This necklace can lift a daytime outfit, or finish an evening one.

Daytime

For a daytime look, the necklace lifts a simple jeans and devore lace top (both F&F Clothing – click here for review of the fab jeans). The pop of green adds interest to the white top and just makes this a slightly dressier option than the look without the jewels.

And for evening wear…

Adding such a zesty green to a little black dress was a perfect way to make the whole look pop. The necklace fitted perfectly into the neckline, showing that this necklace can easily be worn both over a boat neck and crew neck top, or within a plunge or v neckline.
