An Autumn homestyle wishlist

I am currently living it what seems to be a building site. My nerves are frayed, my temper is short and I could literally cry at when trying to get the work done and dealing with moving furniture, dust and plaster, and playing tea lady to workmen who never refuse a cup of tea. The one thing that is currently keeping me going is the idea of what the house will look like once it is finishes…that, and creating wishlists and moodboards on Pinterest.

Autumn brings a whole host of new styles and trends that are not limited to clothing. Homewares always seem to have a fresh edge in Autumn, as people start getting their homes ready for Christmas. House of Fraser, in particular, have a fabulous homewares range that includes ceramics from Biba, prints and wall art from Linea and a really great selection of candles including Hotel Collection and Jo Malone. I have put together an Autumn style mood board which contains some of the pieces that have caught my eye.

I love that the pieces I have selected utilise rich Autumn colours, with brown and rust running through. The pieces are eclectic, with animal print of Biba ( an Art Deco/1930s throwback) contrasted with the rustic vintage charm of the Linea wall print of a long ago London. I love to scatter different types of cushions of mixed prints for that slightly shabby chic feel, so these would work well together. The candles are little bits of luxury that add a look and a scent to make a room feel both fresh and homely.

A table lamp is a must have to add atmosphere to any room and I have a current obsession with anything Tiffany. I like the fact that this particular model (above) is actually quite stark and restrained when compared to the heavily ornate floral Tiffany lamps that you often see.
