Birmingham Designer Vintage Bridal show – 19th and 20th February 2011
2011 is all set to be the year of the wedding, with no less than three Royal weddings, including the much-anticipated nuptials of William and Kate. Add into the mix the rock and roll wedding of Kate Moss, and it very much seems as if getting that special piece of paper is very much in vogue.
But many brides seem to be looking to the past for their wedding inspiration. Dresses that come from a bygone era, whether actual vintage, or vintage inspired, are becoming extremely popular as brides-to-be seek that perfect look that reflects their own, unique personality. Transportation on the big day is no longer just a Rolls Royce, with vintage buses and coaches becoming popular forms of transport for bride, groom and guests.Antique jewellery, table decorations and gifts for those special attendants are also becoming very popular.
Which is why it is the perfect time to launch a new, vintage designer bridal show. Birmingham is to host its first Designer Vintage Bridal Show this month, on the 19th and 20th of February. The setting for this stylish event is Highbury Hall and the event is the brainchild of two wedding fashion experts, bridal shoe designer Rachel Simpson, and Clare Guest, co-owner of ‘The Wedding Club’. Rachel says:-
“Vintage fashion keeps on making a comeback and never more so than in the bridal market. With so much creative talent coming from the heart of the country, it made perfect sense to pull them all together under one roof, to create the Midlands’ first designer vintage bridal show.”
So, what can you expect to find at the show? Well, for starters there will be a mixture of international bridal brands like celebrity favourite Jenny Packham and Tobi Hannah, along with a whole host of talented local artisans and designers. There will be all aspects of weddings covered during the show, from the all-important dress to cakes, flowers and boudoir styles. There will be a good mixture of actual vintage items and those that have been vintage inspired, and all eras will be available to explore.
In addition to all this, vintage fashionistas will be very excited about the appearance at the show of two of the fashion world’s super wedding bloggers. ‘Rock n Roll bride’ aka Kat Williams and Annabel from über wedding site ‘Love my dress’ will both be on hand to offer their expert advice and opinions on all things vintage and bridal.
It is sure to be an amazing weekend, and fashion-mommy is already looking forward to it. For more information about how to get your tickets to the event, check out the website www.designervintagebridal.co.uk
