Blow Out Fridays – Coming to John Lewis
John Lewis is bringing New York’s latest beauty trend to Birmingham with the launch of Blow Out Fridays throughout August at its &Beauty spa. This concept is hugely popular in the States, with the idea being about a quick fix for the hair that means you can head from work to the bar without having to go home first, leaving more time for food, fun and cocktails on a Friday night.
Blow Out Fridays will launch officially on Friday 5th August, giving customers the opportunity to treat themselves to a special blow dry offer ahead of the weekend. Last Thursday I headed to the &Beauty Spa in Birmingham’s Grand Central branch of John Lewis to test out the service, and take a closer look at the wonderful Spa and Salon. I was super impressed with the service, which costs from just £20.
I enjoyed the Blow Out package which included a glass of prosecco, a wash and a customised blow dry, as well as use of the spa Relaxation Area. My stylist was Craig, and I loved the fact that he not only advised on things that could improve the general condition of my hair, but also listened to what I actually wanted (ie – I didn’t want a Blow dry that made me look like Dolly Parton). The session is a great and affordable pampering experience, and really is a brilliant idea if you do head from work to play on a Friday night.
&Beauty is located on the 2nd floor of John Lewis Birmingham, tucked away in a haven for rest, relaxation and revitalisation. The Blow Out concept is available exclusively to Birmingham, offering the city a chance to relax and enjoy a hair or beauty treatment whether on their way home from work or before heading out for the evening. Half an hour blow dry appointments are available on Friday, 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th August, from 4-8pm. Customers can book an appointment by calling &Beauty on 0121 634 6037 and quoting ‘Blow Out Friday’. Prices range from £20 to £25.
As well as blow dries, customers can choose from more than 100 treatments in &Beauty with trained stylists and therapists across hair, beauty and spa ranges. I was taken on a tour of the Spa areas and was so impressed with the stylish area which is a real hive of tranquility and relaxation. The spa offers massage and facials using high quality products like Pai Skincare. I love the fact that you can combine your Spa experience with a little bit of retail therapy, a light lunch and a manicure, my perfect definition of a girlie day.
