One of the my favourite online fashion events of the last twelve months was the launch of the plus size collection from Boohoo.com. It offered clothes that were affordable, fashionable and catered for women of all ages. It took a good look at the trends and translated them in a way that did more than just offering a look in a larger size. I loved the initial collections, finding the clothes to be very wearable, with one particular black dress becoming a real wardrobe fave of mine. (You can see that dress here.) Now the latest collection has been launched, and, once again, there is a lot to love.
There are kimono jackets that come in two lengths, from short, flirty versions, to amazing long length styles that will be a brilliant way to dress up jeans, or to be worn, Daisy Lowe style, over hotpants and shorts. There are dresses and skirt which have the midi length that shows no signs of going away. Lots of the dresses have the swing shape that avoids clinging and allows for that second pudding you fancied. These also allow for versatility – you can wear them loose and flowing, or you can dress them up and add a belt to define shape.
As for colours, anything goes. Classic black is well represented, but there are also floral prints that seem to utilise every single shade from the rainbow. I love the deep mustard of the Lucy Midi Skirt, a sports luxe number that would look great pair with a black oversized tee, whilst the Mallory longline kimono comes in a fabulous shade of orange, perfect for blowing those Autumn cobwebs away.
Here are some of my favourite pieces from the range. I will be reviewing pieces from the range in the coming weeks (I won’t feature those picks here, that can be a surprise), but as I said, there is so much to love in this collection.
