Busy Moms’ Fashion, Style, and Life Hacks (For Enhanced Confidence and Happier Days)

Mom life means simplicity in what you wear and a lot of planning, all in a bid to make sure that you get everything done.  Unfortunately, the pressure to be everything you ever dreamed of becoming only piles up on you once the babies are here.

You will have days when you feel like you are a superwoman, getting the baby to nap and sleep well at night while also being able to take a 10-minute shower, fix dinner, and load laundry. Other days, however, mom-life kicks you to the ground, and you are unable to do much. Such days are always guaranteed, but in between, there is something called balance. And in this small balance capsule, we recommend that you fit in a few minutes doing things that make you feel like yourself again, even for an hour.

One of the things you could do is to find nice outfits that make you look like the rockstar you are. Not sure where to start? Here are some tips and hacks to make you look great after having babies.

Go for the Drapey look.

Being a new mom means realizing that nothing from your wardrobe looks good on you, a realization that makes you feel deflated (no-pun intended). The few months after giving birth, better known as the 4th trimester, means going from a glorious silhouette to a body you hardly recognize. As a result, moms tend to shy away from some outfits, opting for baggy tees instead. Understandably, it is the option that works best for most people. But how about switching it all up and looking classy by draping up. The sweat pants may be comfy, but they only make you look worse.

Here’s what you should do instead – wear tops and/or dresses designed to drape over your body but away from the tummy. This means avoiding fitting clothes. Opt for clothes with gathers and ruching detailing, with fabrics cascading over the body, without clinging. Think t-shirt dresses, tunics, Empire-waist dresses, and ruched up tops.

Avoid the wide-legged pants, and wear billowing tops with skinny jeans, leggings, or jeggings for a longer and a leaner look.

Embrace Leggings

Today, leggings form an important part of fashion, and they are than workout pants. They come in different designs and styles, and you have options like the staple leggings that can be worn to dinner or work, the cozy and buttery-soft comfort leggings, the high-waist active leggings, and even the biker shorts. The variety notwithstanding, leggings are fun to pair up, and they are also quite comfortable, which is why they are a recommended option for moms (regardless of when you gave birth and the number of kids).

Paired well, leggings give off an elevated casual look that isn’t frumpy. Some of the ways to dress up your leggings include throwing on a hat, a jacket, some fashionable sneakers, the perfect accessories, and a bold lip.

If you are not sure where to start, you’ll be happy to note that you could wear your leggings with a basic or a ruched up top, statement necklaces, a leather jacket, boots, or sneakers. Opt for darker colors.

Plan Ahead

If leaving the house for some hours or the day, plan ahead. You’ll certainly have to change clothes at some point because…. Babies, meaning that you have to pack an extra top. If you wish to maintain that nice look during lunch, ensure that the extra top is designed almost or exactly as the one you had on before. Also, now may be the perfect time for you to invest in more dark pants.
