Achieving work/Life balance this Christmas
We lead increasingly busy lives, and as we head towards Christmas, the one thing guaranteed is that they will get busier still. We still have to work for a living, but now we are also trying to shop, put up decorations, visit family, write cards, drop off presents, enjoy an increasingly busy social life and then finally reach Christmas and hope we just don’t drop with exhaustion. We’ve all enjoyed that Sainsbury’s advert about the best present you can give being yourself, but if you’ve already burnt out, there may not be anything left to give. So what can you do in order to chill out, avoid creating extra stress and strain, and…

Arthur Price How To Lay The Perfect Christmas Table Event at Wolverhampton Grand
On Monday I was invited to a rather wonderful event at Arthur’s of the Grand. Arthur’s is a new cocktail bar and pre-theatre area sponsored by Arthur Price, the cutlery experts, at the newly refurbished Grand Theatre in Wolverhampton, and is a beautiful Art Deco space. Monday’s event was the perfect way to start the Christmas season, with advice on all things Christmas. From laying the perfect Christmas table, making exquisite Christmas cocktails, seasonal touches for the home and food treats in the form of Christmas cake and quick dishes. It was a sparkly festive event and started Christmas with a seasonal bang. The evening started with some festive Cocktails…

House of Fraser are sorting out your cocktail needs
We are getting very close to the festive season, and that means that it is almost cocktail season too. On Monday night I attended a very special Christmas event at the Wolverhampton Grand, and one of the things on the menu was creating Christmas cocktails, with a Snow Queen being a particular treat (coconut cream, Malibu and blue curacao in case you’re wondering.) Forget the Eggnog and the Mulled Wine, Christmas is about cocktails, glamorous, decadent and elegant. House of Fraser are getting into the party spirit in style and have created a cocktail wheel which can help you to create a series of classic cocktails. You spin the virtual…

Nude/Pink Sequin Shell Top from Simply Be
Every wardrobe needs a pretty sparkly top – a going out top so to speak. A top that can be teamed with a pair of jeans and heels for a night at the pub, or worn with a pencil skirt for a more formal occasion. At this time of year, sparkly tops covered in sequins and glitter really come into their own as they can also be worn in the day as you plunge yourself into festive season – sparkles and sequins are definitely not just for Christmas, but it probably is their favourite time of the year. I’m a magpie when it comes to shiny, glittery things, so I…

Mrs Claus Style – Red Hot from M&S
As far as I am concerned, M&S have officially won Christmas. I love Buster the Boxer, but Janet McTeer, in her glamorous red outfit, totally owns the screen as the glamorous, elegant Mrs Claus, saving the day for Jake and showing his sister how much he loves her. Mrs Claus is cool, unflappable, not one for reindeers or chimneys, but possibly the only person in the world who could make eating a mince pie seem like a glamorous activity. She is, quite frankly, a new woman crush, because no one could refer to the glorious Janet as a mere girl. Mrs Claus shows that as well as being the most…
