The Secret Into Designing The Perfect Website/ Blog

Are you thinking of designing your own website? Maybe you want to create a blog for yourself where you can share your life experiences, hobbies, passions and more. If so, you have come to the right place as I am going to give you some and advice on the best ways of doing this through a step by step guide.

During the planning process, you must think carefully about two things:

How do you want it to look?

Before going ahead and designing your website/blog, it’s important to plan exactly how you want it to look. These things include the layout, the colour scheme, pictures/videos and the content. You should ensure it has a clear layout, subtle colours, a reasonable number of pictures and/or videos as well as engaging content. By having all of these things, your website/blog will appeal to a lot more people which will result in it being much more successful. It’s a good idea to create a mock-up version of the basic layout and what you want to include on each page of your blog/website. You can use tools such as Mockup Builder, Mocking Bird or even just Microsoft Word to create a rough version of your ideas.

What type of website/blog do you want it to be?

You must think carefully about the message in which you want to give off to anyone who reads or visits your website or blog. For example, if you’re thinking of creating a beauty blog (https://amelialiana.com/), you should include helpful advice and tips about ways in which people can not only look great, but feel great too. The best approach is to ensure that you come across to people in the best way possible in order to get more traffic coming to your site.

Now that planning is covered, it’s time to move onto actually creating the website/blog.

1) Choose a blog/website platform (e.g. wordpress) (https://wordpress.com/com-vs-org/)

2) Choose a domain name (www.) and host

3) Setup, design and tweak your blog/website

There are a number of different websites that you can get inspiration and ideas from to help make yours be the best it can be. When looking at other websites or blogs, remember that they don’t necessarily have to be ones of the same topic or subject as the one you’re planning to create.

One website that you could get some inspiration from is Sun Bingo (https://www.sunbingo.co.uk/) as it’s fun, full of eye-catching images, has lots of interesting content and many interactive games and activities. These are the type of things that make up a great website or blog and are all factors that will contribute to the success of any online site. Another great website that I would recommend that you check out is Vogue (http://www.vogue.co.uk/) due to its intriguing layout, bold titles, eye-catching pictures and interesting content. Even though these examples may not be anything like the type of blog or website that you wish to design, they will definitely be helpful as they will give you some initial ideas and inspiration. So, what are you waiting for? Get browsing for ideas and start putting together a plan of action for your very own website or blog.

January Outfit Post – Part 2

As promised, here is part two of my outfit post for January. This one features some of the sale bargains I found this month, including the final pieces which cost a grand total of £16 from Topshop. I’ve already worn the jumper on a couple of occasions, and I know the skirt will be a wardrobe favourite as I have it in a couple of different colours and basically wear them to death. I’m thinking of teaming it with a black jumper for the rest of the Winter, and then a cream cami and strappy sandals once Summer comes. The best sort of wardrobe buys are ones which are versatile and earn their keep in your wardrobe – I certainly think this skirt fits the bill.

I went on a lovely ladies trip to Lichfield at the end of January and got some great Charity Shop buys. The red and black striped dress was just £3.99, it was something I liked when it was in store at Dorothy Perkins and I pretty sure I tried it on at some point, so I was really glad to see it at such a great price. It is the sort of style you can wear formally, but it is also comfortable due to the stretchy skirt – fab if you want an extra cake at lunchtime. The pretty white blouse from F&F Clothing was another bargain, it is so unusual and I can see I will wear this a lot too.

As ever, I have added links to items still in store, or similar things if I could find them.

January Outfit Post Pt 1

I have to say that I am so glad that January is over. I’ve never been a fan of the month, it is such an anti-climax after the fun and sparkle of Christmas, and this month it has been made worse by very cold weather and a house full of regular bouts of illness. That said, in terms of fashion, it hasn’t been all that bad.

January has the last of the sales. This is a time when the shops are filled with lots of rubbish, but you can also get diamonds amongst the rough. A case in point is my animal print River Island skirt. I’d been trying to find this for ages, and then spotted one in my size on a sale rail in the Bullring for £15. Then there was the James Lakeland jumper in TK Maxx – £2 anyone. You do have to rummage more in the sales, but the bargains are there to be found and the savings are massive.

I’ve split this post into two separate posts with the second coming next week. You may notice that certain things are appearing a lot, I genuinely believe that my Dorothy Perkins denim skirt will be literally falling apart before I stop wearing it, and I am frantically looking for something similar for this year. The same goes for my boots, it has been so cold I’ve hardly been out of boots all month. Hopefully I’ll wear more shoes in February.

As ever, this post is a mixture of new buys, charity shop finds and vintage pieces, and where possible, I’ve put a link to the item or something very similar.

What were you wearing in January?
