Maxi dress style – Perfect for Summer

The calendar says that it is Summer, but standing outside today watching Joe play football in biting wind, I’m not so sure. But one thing I am sure of is that it is maxi dress season. Confused, well let me explain.

Maxi dresses have become a real summer staple, one that suit woman of all shapes and sizes, and work for pretty much every occasion. You can buy them in regular, petite and plus size fits, in styles that come from strapless to long sleeved, in heavier jersey to the lightest of cotton. And this is what makes them perfect for English Summer, as well as throwing in that holiday suitcase.

A maxi will work for a wedding, a summer garden party, or thrown over a bikini or swimsuit at the beach. They are perfect for holiday evening wear as they look great with jewelled sandals and a clutch bag, but add a blazer or a lightweight cardigan and they can take you smartly into most work situations too. A stretchy jersey vest style version works for a day at the park with the kids. Wear a stripy version and a straw hat and you are all set for summer in the city. The boho styles loved by everyone from Kate Moss to Rihanna cover all manner of sins with their long sleeves and ethnic prints, and Kylie Minogue shows how well they can work for petite girls too.

Here are some of my favourite maxi styles, along with some suggestions on how to get the look too.

Online bingo – Entertainment at home

Playing online bingo has benefits that only a player who plays the game regularly will be able to experience. There is a reason as to why online bingo sites are chosen more extensively as compared to other online games, and that is that when we talk about online bingo sites, we are also talking about a wide range of casino and slot games.

All online bingo sites have a variety of lotto style games along with heaps of other non bingo games as well. This keeps players entertained and that is a reason for why the online bingo industry is a booming industry today.

In the UK, gambling has been an important aspect of time that people spend on the internet. The UK is among the few countries that has legalized online and offline gambling and has well established and organized authorities to safeguard the interests of all gamblers. Online bingo sites have to be licensed with the right authority in order to be able to provide all gambling related services.

Among all the gambling games, bingo has always been the most preferred as the game doesn’t involve a lot of skill to play. Everything depends on one’s luck. Online bingo sites come up with innovative games and the face of the game has changed as the software being used enables players to buy multiple tickets to each game, and from being a purely 75-ball and 90-ball game, there are now variations viz 50-ball, 80-ball and even 30-ball bingo games. That’s not all, you can even play bingo on the go on your mobile devices and tablets as most sites are made compatible with various screen sizes.

All of these games have prizes of their own and there also is a progressive jackpot that can be won. These jackpots keep growing in figures until there finally is a winner. Players are also given free bingo tickets, additional no deposit bingo bonuses and prize draw entries to keep the enthusiasm of the game alive.

So whatever it is you like about online bingo, join GameVillage today as this site has an incredible bonus offer for newbies along with unique features that you can surely benefit from.

Return of the 90s slip dress

When I was a teenager, there was one wardrobe item that was essential for a Saturday night out. I’m talking about the slip dress, that tiny piece of fabric with spaghetti style straps and a look that was distinctly more negligee than frock. I wore a pink short version the first time I met my husband, and used to actually buy vintage nighties to wear as dresses, sometimes grunge style with a t-shirt underneath, other times more glamorous with lots of faux pearls or diamante. Kate Moss was queen of the slip dress, and there was no-one cooler than Kate in the 90s.

And although they’ve never really gone away completely, at the moment they are definitely back with a bang. Last week, the exquisite Rosie Huntington Whiteley was photographed looking amazing in a soft baby pink slip dress, teamed with sleek Robert Palmer style hair and pink faux fur. This was following on from Sienna Miller, Amanda Seyfried and, who else, Kate Moss, who have all returned to this 1990 classic style.

There are many ways to get the look. You can trawl charity shops and jumble sales for vintage nighties and camisole tops. If you are brave, you could try actual underwear as outerwear, with chemises from Boux Avenue and long silk night gowns doubling as dresses. Or, if you prefer your dress to have a little more substance and a little less wisp, the High Street has plenty of gorgeous styles – just add some strappy sandals for the ultimate sex kitten look.

That was then
