STAMPS Present ‘Our House’ The Madness Musical
The STAMPS theatre group had their opening night for ‘Our House’ The Madness Musical at Birmingham’s Crescent Theatre last night. The show delighted the audience with strong lead performances and exciting ensemble numbers. This is an excellent musical which the cast clearly enjoyed bringing to life in truly entertaining style. The story is a ‘what if’ tale concerning the life of Joe Casey. An event on his 16th birthday will point the way to how his life will turn out, depending on his choice of action. What follows is the audience witnessing events in the life of both ‘good Joe’ and ‘bad Joe’, leading to the climatic ending. The leading…

Come From Away – Simply Stunning Theatre
If you don’t come from Newfoundland in Canada, then you ‘come from away’. In the hours following the attack on America on 9/11, 38 planes carrying 7,000 people who ‘come from away’ descended on the tiny town of Gander, and its surrounding towns as a no fly zone was imposed over the USA. ‘Come From Away‘ is a musical dedicated to telling some of the stories of what happened over the next five days, to both the inhabitants of Gander, and the people who were forced, due to the most horrific events, to stay there. This is a story of friendships and the bonds that can developed, of the goodwill…

Cirque Du Magique – Exhilarating Fun
The grand tradition of circus and the magic show has been given a new lease of life by Cirque Du Magique. Lead by the wonderfully talented Richard Cadell, Cirque Du Magique is a genuinely exhilarating ride through the world of magic, illusion and circus skills, all delivered with style and panache. This brilliant show for the whole family opened in Wolverhampton’s Grand Theatre for a three night run last night, and totally thrilled the audience, who were often on the edge of their seat for the death defying stunts. Richard Cadell is a seasoned performer who is probably best known for his work on with Sooty (you can read an…

Wonder Boy At The Wolverhampton Grand
Theatre that genuinely speaks to teenagers, and speaks in their language, is hard to find. Written by Ross Willis, Wonder Boy, which opened at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre last night, did just that. It’s clever use of words and graphics in its staging, and a compact cast, make this a sad yet funny, devastating yet ultimately heart warming tale of the power of ‘small talk’, and how something we all take for granted can mean the world to someone losing the will to interact due to a stammer. Sonny is the wonder boy of the title, a lost, clever, warm and loving boy who is slowly dying of frustration due…
