Diversity Connected Is Spectacular Entertainment
Diversity brought their latest show, ‘Connected’ to Birmingham’s Alexandra Theatre last night and it is spectacular! I don’t think I’d be wrong in saying that as a 40 something woman I’m probably not the target audience for this show, which is all about how we are connected through the power of the internet, but I loved every clever minute of it, finding myself dazzled, entertained and moved in turn. The full house and standing ovation at the end of the show, was fully deserved, this is one show you must see. As mentioned in my introduction, ‘Connected’ is all about the power of the internet to keep us all connected…

Dreamboats And Petticoats – Nostalgia Dripping In Feelgood Charm
The third installment in the highly popular Dreamboats and Petticoats theatre series opened at The Alexandra Theatre last night, bringing its own brand of nostalgic charm to Birmingham. How will the couple be able to keep their love strong whilst they are kept apart for the summer and will…

The Osmonds – A New Musical Smash Hit
For many people, The Osmonds were the early 1970s band. With their toothy grins, wholesome image and catchy songs, they offered something for everybody, and seemed to have it all. The truth, as a brand new musical by Jay Osmond reveals, is that there were rivalries, unhappiness about the direction the band took once they became all-round musical entertainers, and ultimately money worries that almost led to bankruptcy in 1980. But there was also the music, performed by one of the most talented groups of musicians to ever grace the charts, and as the delighted audience of the Wolverhampton Grand shows, the music has stood the test of time, even…

The Da Vinci Code Is An Exhilarating Ride
Since its release in 2003, The Da Vinci Code has become a phenomenon, the book that launched a thousand theories about the truth of the bible, of Jesus Christ, and the possibility of a bloodline that exists through the ages right up to the present. A so so film adaptation followed, with Tom Hanks totally miscast as Robert Langdon, but now the story has been adapted all over again in the form of a stage play and is delighting audiences with it’s dazzling staging, exciting premise and a wonderful central performance from Nigel Harman as Robert Langdon. As a true fan of the book, I watched this last night at…

Fatal Attraction; Seriously Good
Fatal Attraction was the movie of 1987. An high octane thriller with some well timed shocks and a stellar cast, it wowed audiences across the globe. Now it has been turned into a chilling, but very stylish stage play that opened in Birmingham at The Alexandra Theatre last night. I was intrigued to see how it would transfer to the stage, but am happy to report that it is seriously good, with a knockout cast who deliver all the right blows, a brilliant set which allows the story to move from office buildings in New York to deep in the countryside, and an alternative ending that is far more effective than…
