Christmas Gift List 2 – A focus on Skincare
When it comes to writing out our Christmas lists for Santa (yes, I know you’re not all 5 years old, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have a wishlist does it?), we all tend to go in different directions. Some of us choose luxury items, designer bags and shoes, or something special we have been looking at and lusting over for a long period of time. But others amongst us use Christmas as a time to stock up on our favourite products in terms of beauty and skincare, and I have to say that I fall into this catagory.
Christmas is a great time to stock up on your favourite beauty and skincare brands as there are often some really good deals to be found. Many companies produce special gift sets where the value of the products included far exceeds the price of the kit. In addition, bumper sized bottles and tubes are also popular at this time of the year, as winter weather calls for an upgrade in our skincare regimes.
One brand that I have enjoyed using recently is Dermalogica. I was gifted a wonderful skincare pack from Harvey Nichols at a press event and just fell in love with the products and the ethos of the brand. The Active Moist is one of the lightest, and yet most nourishing moisturisers I have ever used. I’m also a huge fan of the Daily Microfoliant, which is just the pick-me-up your skin needs if it is looking tired and dull.
I am also really impressed with the work that the Demalogica Foundation does with women entrepreneurs all across the world. The Foundation was formed in 1999 to nurture and support under-served women and girls looking to gain economic security for themselves and their families. This was further extended in 2010 when a new global platform, JoinFITE (Financial Independence Through Entrepreneurship) is a public education and capital-raising campaign to direct loans to women entrepreneurs in 57 countries around the world, including the United States. (You can find out more about the programme here.) Dermalogica is a skincare brand that you can buy with the knowledge that you are not only giving your skin a great chance, but that you are also giving a chance to women across the world.
I have picked out some of my favourite products from the current Dermalogica range that would sit very nicely in my Christmas stocking.
Have you ever tried Dermalogica?
