Creating A Wardrobe For Children – Cheap or Designer?

When it comes to dressing the little ones, sometimes it can be hard to know what to purchase. Do you opt for something cheap and cheerful or something that is more expensive and fashionable? Many parents are divided on the topic of childrenswear and whether or not you should splash the cash or save the pennies. We all want the very best for our children, so why should we dress them in cheap clothing? But then again, little ones can quickly grow out of their clothing which means those expensive pieces may only get worn a couple of times. So which is the better option when it comes to dressing children?

Designer Clothing

You may not think that there are many benefits to designer children’s clothing, but there are a few things you should consider before making your decision. Pieces from high end labels and brands will be of a much higher quality, therefore your children’s clothing will last for longer. Even after they have grown out of them, they should still be in good condition and good enough to hand down to other young members of the family or to keep for later siblings. This will of course save you money in the long run, as you won’t be shopping as much for new clothes for the kids. Plus, many designer kids fashion stores such as Elfin Childrenswear will have more discounts and offers, so you may just get a good deal on something high end.

Cheap Clothing

Cheap fashion for kids also has its benefits. As with all children, little ones are constantly growing and will quickly mature out of their clothes. So that £10 jacket you purchased for your youngster may have only been worn a few times, but for £10 that is not much of a waste. Another thing to consider is the weather. The unpredictability of the weather will mean you will need to purchase a whole load of different pieces for the kids. This could lead to a large wardrobe full of different styles so that you and the little one are always prepared. So with all those many different types of clothing to buy, you may need to choose cheap in order to save yourself a bit of money.

So, what is your opinion? Would you splash out on something that is a little more expensive? Or would you stick to cheaper kids clothing for the little ones?
