There are certain items that every capsule wardrobe should include. A little black dress, a classic black handbag, a crisp white shirt, all these are items that you will wear time and time again. To this list, I would also add a single breasted white blazer. This is something that looks brilliant with so many things including denim, over a shift dress and teamed with a tea dress. There are literally so many combinations that the white blazer can be worn with, it becomes an essential part of the all-year round wardrobe.
When I was asked if I would be interested in reviewing something from the Curvissa Spring/Summer collection, I immediately plumped for a classic white blazer. The Satin blazer is a classic style. Single buttoned, with a decorative two buttoned detail on the black, this jacket is a semi-fitted stretched style that is ultra smart and stylish. It is also fully lined and features two front pockets. I loved this jacket from the images on the site, although I was slightly worried by the description of ‘satin’ – would this jacket be a little bit Saturday Night fever?
I need not have worried. The jacket (made by the label Sheego) is more of a crisp cotton rather than a high shined satin, making it perfect to wear for day or night wear. It has a single button, which I really liked due to its tortoiseshell sheen, giving it a designer feel. I liked the length, and the sleeve length was also perfect, but I do feel that although this was comfortable, it may pay to go up a size if you have a large bust.
How did I style it?
Day to night
I think this jacket is super versatile, and the quality is great. I know this is going to have a long and happy life in my wardrobe, and will be getting lots of outings during the coming months.
With thanks to Curvissa for the jacket which I was gifted for review.
