David’s Bridal Opens in Birmingham
Last month American Wedding giant David’s Bridal opened its doors with a new shop in Birmingham City Centre. Spread across the city’s former City Plaza, the giant emporium plays host to everything that a bride could possibly need, from the dress and veil, to shoes, underwear, bridesmaid and flower dresses, jewellery, even hen night accessories. The vast store is an Aladdin’s cave for brides and is sure to be a big success with Birmingham brides.
David’s Bridal is the biggest bridal brand in the USA, and there are so many things about the store to recommend it to UK Brides. Their collection of dresses is vast, with every style available, from fishtails and meringues, to prom style and column dresses. (There is a display at the front of the store that shows off different dress styles and how they suit different body shapes.) A huge variety of dresses come in plus sizes, every dress that has a pink tag around the neck is available in a range of sizes that range from petite to plus size.
The range of budgets available also make this a brilliant destination for brides, with dresses ranging in price from £200 to £2000. There are designer styles from Vera Wang, Jenny Packham and Oleg Cassini, but also a huge collection of dresses from the David’s Bridal own collection. The same is true of bridesmaid’s dresses, which again range from designer to the home brand, and come in every colour imaginable.
I loved the extra large changing rooms which are sleek and elegant, and really love the fact that there are extra large spaces to cater for brides in wheelchairs. I was also really impressed with the bell ringing ceremony which celebrates when a bride to be has found her perfect dress, I just think this will add to the special occasion.
With jewelled sandals for weddings abroad, beautiful underwear to wear under that special dress, and stunning occasion wear which might be suitable for black tie occasions, or for wedding guests, David’s Bridal has all your wedding needs covered in style.

What a beautiful and huge choice of dresses! I love that they are available in a wide range of sizes too. The bell idea is so cute, I can imagine how much fun that would be to ring. Wish I was getting married all over again!

The shop doesn’t look tacky, and I like it as it is something that would put me off straight away if I was looking for a dress. I’m not really a specialist of prom dresses as I don’t ever wear them but these ones look quite alright.

I do love wedding dress shops. All those gorgeous dresses in one place but often they’re quite cramped. I love how much space there is in this one and that they have a good range of dresses on show over a large price range. Might have to pretend to get married just so I can go try a few on!
