Part two of my Debenhams round-up, and the focus moves onto Betty Jackson Black and J by Jasper Conran. These are designers who I consider to be style classicists, they have tried and tested formulas which they adhere to, producing beautifully wearable clothes that take you from every occasion, from everyday workwear to gloriously dressy summer weddings. Here are some of my favourite items from Spring/Summer 2012.
Betty Jackson had a pretty mixed bag for Spring/Summer 2012. There were bold, block colours, and vibrant prints, floaty trousers and structured utility style dresses. Long pleated maxi skirts were worn almost student style with baggy knitwear. If there was a theme running through, it seemed to be purple, Betty’s colour of choice.
Jasper Conran presents a collection that could’ve been influenced by the 1950s style of Grace Kelly, and would be fabulous for her modern-day counterpart, Kate Middleton. This is a collection that is all about the dress, a mixture of full-skirted designs, and tighter figure hugging numbers. Mustard is a key shade running through the collection, which I must confess is one of my favourites.
