Fashion-mommy Loves -a review of April style.
April was a truly stylish month that was totally dominated by weddings! The glossy magazine covers looked distinctly bridal, with Vogue producing three covers featuring Natalia Vodianova, Freja Beha Erichsen and Lara Stone as three very beautiful brides, whilst Harpers Bazaar had a glorious Kate Moss as its regal cover girl. Honestly, anyone would think that there was a royal wedding going on! But seriously, April proved to be a beautiful and stylish month. Here are some of the best bits of it.
A royal wedding…and a few other brides.
Kate Middleton made a totally beautiful bride, and the fashion moment was made all the sweeter when it was revealed that Sarah Burton had designed the stunningly stylish royal dress. Taking its cues from the most stylish royal brides of the past, this was a dream of a dress with acres of lace, if not acres of train. Chief bridesmaid Pippa Middleton also looked fabulous, with her pert backside getting its own fan club and Facebook page.
But Kate Middleton was not the only beautiful bride this month. Reese Witherspoon looked so pretty in pink for her wedding to Jim Toth, whilst supermodel Natasha Poly was another radiant bride. Keira Knightley proved that Pippa Middleton wasn’t the only beautiful bridesmaid in town when her brother got married to designer KerryNixon.I adored Kerry’s 1950s style gown which reminded me of Marilyn Monroe in ‘Gentleman Prefer blondes’. There must be something in the air!
Magazine Covers
I have just loved so many covers this month. Kate Middleton featured in a stunning shot in Newsweek, whilst Adele looked amazing on the cover of Rolling Stone. And, as already mentioned, I just loved the royal wedding inspired glossies from Vogue and Harpers Bazaar.
As well as the fantastic covers, I loved the street parties and decorated shop windows. My favourite window was on Foyles bookshop on Charing Cross Road, but I loved that little charity shops also joined in with the fun.

I also really liked the new M&S campaign that featured Twiggy, VV Brown and Dannii Minogue in attire fit for any wedding. I especially loved Dannii’s pink fascinator that will be perfect for a wedding I am attending in August.
What did I buy this month?
My purchases this month were fit for any Royal wedding. I got a fabulous Pearl Lowe for Peacocks dress which has a real 40s feel, so I add 40s style stacked heels to complete the look. I also got a fantastic floral prom style dress from Dorothy Perkins that will be perfect for Summer evenings.

My book choices this month were the wonderful ‘My Life in Frocks’ by Kelly Doust which is filled with gorgeous illustrations and mini essays about dress. I was also lucky enough to win a copy of Kate style from those lovely people at Marie Claire.
What a fabulous, confetti filled month!
