Fashion-Mommy loves -A style review of March Style.

March has been a busy fashion month. It started with the sacking of John Galliano from Dior after his shocking anti-Semitic comments that stunned the fashion industry and public alike. It ended with the launch of Pearl Lowe’s newest Peacocks collection that promises to be another sell out. The month has seen Vivienne Westwood launch her first American store, with a little help from Christina Hendricks, the story of ‘Lucy in Disguise’ told in ‘Lily Allen – from Riches to Rags’ on Chanel 4, and the usual slew of film premieres, launches  and celebrity appearances. Here are some more of the things that Fashion-Mommy has loved this month.

Star Style

There have been some interesting looks on display this month. Olivia Munn reflected the glorious spring weather with the perfect floral maxi dress which I think will be much copied this Summer. Taylor Swift was another star who tapped into the floral trend with a pretty sundress teamed with a cardigan to take the chill away. Katie Holmes showed how you can wear leather trousers without looking like a rock chic by adding a beautiful green blouse, whilst Fan Bing Bing became the newest style crush with her chameleon like style. Paloma Faith brought her usual quirky style to the Hogan by Karl Lagerfeld Paris party.

The two Kate’s continued to make fashion waves. Kate Middleton showed again that clothes in her wardrobe have to earn their keep by wearing the camel leather LK Bennett jacket for a meal with William in which her wore scruffy trainers. She then earned her first unanimous praise for her stunning Burberry trenchcoat, which became an instant sell out. John Lewis also cashed in on the Kate craze with their ad campaign in which Coco Rocha seemed to resemble a certain Princess in waiting in a Reiss like dress.

Kate Moss was photographed this month wearing 1970s evening wear and clutching a box of after eight mints for an Abigail’s Party themed night. The dress was amazing, but I don’t think I will be copying the strange curls. She looked her usual amazing self at a club launch in London later this month.

Rihanna’s first cover for US Vogue showed just why she is considered one of the most beautiful and stylish stars in the world at the moment. The internet went crazy for this image in which Rihanna resembled The Birth of Venus.

The launch of the new Pearl Lowe for Peacocks collection has been another success. With Daisy Lowe again the face of the brand, this is another retro styled vintage look with Daisy styled as a brunette Bardot.

I must admit that I have really enjoyed shopping this month. Here are a few of my  favourite buys.

I also bought lots of vintage and second-hand items, which I will talk about in a future post.

Another great month over. See you in April!
