Flower Power from Wallis

This post is inspired by the beautiful weather we are having at the moment…and Helen McCrory. Bright, sunshine weather always makes me turn to the pretty floral pieces I have in my wardrobe, it just seems so apt to be wearing something floaty and pretty when the days are fine and warm. Thus my first influence is quite easily explained.

The second is the fabulous actress Helen McCrory. I honestly can’t think of an actress who does florals on the red carpet quite as wonderfully as Helen. Last night she rocked up at the Television BAFTA’s in a stunning orange, floral print dress that was both classic in terms of style, and fashionable in terms of the tropical print (see Friday’s fashion post where I looked at botanical prints here).

This is not the first time Helen has opted for florals on the red carpet, last time she did it I swooned that her dress also had pockets too. It seems that the lady playing Aunt Polly in Peaky Blinders is totally inspiration when it comes to wearing ‘all things bright and beautiful’ style prints, a look that is very easy to adopt at the moment.

Wallis are having a bit of a floral fashion moment, with everything from glamorous maxi dresses to practical trousers festooned with blooms. There are some beautiful dresses that would take you to a wedding or a day at the races, blazers that could work as unusual work wear, and pretty tops that just need a pair of jeans to rule the weekend.
