Good American is a size-inclusive clothing line that offers a wide range of women’s clothing options. Some of the many clothing options Good American is known for include:

  • Dresses
  • Swimwear
  • Jackets and other outerwear
  • Shoes (boots, pumps, sandals, and more)
  • Bodysuits
  • Tops, tanks, and tees

With that said, the Good American brand didn’t always sell such a wide variety of products. There was a time, back when the brand first launched, when it only sold bottoms. This was born from the founder’s own frustrations with the fashion industry and having size-inclusive options available for women’s jeans.

Where Can You Buy Good American Brand Products?

You can see plenty of Good American’s products modelled on their official Instagram page.

Good American products can be purchased at select retail locations in the USA and internationally. At the time of writing this, the brand doesn’t have its own dedicated retail store locations, instead, you can buy its products at other retailers like Evereve, Anthropologie, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus. Some international retailers are:

  • David Jones (Australia)
  • Lane Crawford (Hong Kong)
  • El Palacio de Hierro (Mexico)
  • Flannels (UK)
  • Bloomingdale’s Dubai (UAE)

The most convenient place to purchase Good American products is on the brand’s official online website GoodAmerica.com. The official website does offer international shipping for those who live outside of the US but still want to get their hands on their fantastic catalog. Good American products can also be found on other reputable online retailers like Shopbop.

Good American’s Founders

Emma Grede

Emma is a mother of four, CEO,  chairwoman, and board member of multiple organizations and companies. Image courtesy of Mollysims.

Emma Grede has a long history in the fashion industry. After studying business at the London School of Fashion Emma worked on fashion show productions for Inca Productions. She would then move on to founding and running the talent management and entertainment marketing agency ITB. After ITB was acquired by Rogers & Cowan, Emma and Khloe Kardashian joined forces and founded Good American which Emma is still CEO of to this day.

Khloe isn’t the only Kardashian to partner with Emma on a fashion-related business venture. Kim Kardashian and Emma are both founding partners of the inclusive underwear, loungewear, and shapewear brand SKIMS. Emma is also the co-founder of the plant-powered cleaning brand Safely, which specializes in chemical-free cleaning products.

Emma Grede is also a strong advocate for women’s empowerment as well as diversity and inclusion. She is a board member and trustee of Women for Women International and Baby2Baby. She has also done work as the chairwoman of Fifteen Percent Pledge, an organization that asks businesses to reserve at least 15% of their shelf space to Black owned products and brands.

Khloe Kardashian

It’s always nice to see the face of a company wearing and using the very products they sell. Image courtesy of ETonline.

The idea of the Good American brand was birthed from Khloe’s own frustrations and experiences with women’s fashion. Khloe has proven she is more than capable of spearheading large projects. Her work as the executive producer of the incredibly popular E! series Keeping Up With The Kardashians is proof of this, but if you want more we can cite the success of the second hit show she has been executive producer of, HULU’s The Kardashians. The show currently sits as the most-watched series premiere on HULU here in the United States.

She has also shown a dedication to health and wellness by hosting and producing the docu-series Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian. For someone with a passion for women’s health and a clear talent for executive roles starting a clothing line was probably inevitable. But even the best of us need help when your goal is bringing innovation to an industry and Emma Grede was the perfect woman for this particular job.

Why Are Good American Jeans So Expensive?

Good American’s jeans tend to float between $90 and $245. This probably seems a bit pricey for a pair of jeans. Under normal circumstances, we would agree with you, but Good American jeans aren’t normal jeans. Good American jeans are manufactured right here in the US and are made using high-quality materials. These jeans are also built to last, so buying a pair feels more like an investment in your wardrobe for the future. Good American jeans are also crazy soft and very flexible, meaning they will adapt and change to your body if your body goes through subtle changes.

It doesn’t have to be all bad when it comes to prices. Good American’s website often runs sales on many of its jeans and even has an entire section of its site dedicated to items that are on sale. You can even get some of their jeans up to 50% off their usual price during holidays and other limited-time events!

Conclusion

The Good American brand continues to provide women the world over with jeans that are absolutely fabulous in their designs, high-quality in their materials and construction, and empowering with their size-inclusive options. This brand has pushed the fashion industry forward with its message and based on the brand’s popularity, women are definitely agreeing with them. Here’s hoping that other brands follow Good American’s lead and make size-inclusive clothing options an industry standard.
