How well do you really know your Christmas songs?

Christmas day has to be one of the most stressful days of the year. There’s turkeys to roast, shreds of wrapping paper to clean, dinner tables to set and guests to entertain… Thank God Christmas songs are there once the chaos has ended. With such a large library of classic festive songs, lifting those tattered spirits after a hectic day’s work is easy.

For the quintessential Christmas spirit lifter, it’s hard to beat the sugar-coated pop of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You”, which has become THE unofficial song of the holiday season. Pair this song with a comfy chair and your favourite drink for the ultimate pick me up.

And what about The Pogues and their epic “Fairytale of New York”? Okay, so the downright miserable lyrics may not be the most Christmassy out there, but try to not tap those toes once the song really picks up the tempo.

If you’re too bushed to jingle the bells, then there’s plenty of relaxing seasonal options. Bing Crosby and his “White Christmas” has to be one of the best nostalgic remedies. The recollection of joyful memories and the hopes of snow on Christmas day surely rings true for most people. And the reason this song is one of the must listens during the holidays.

In the mood for something with a bit more sass? “Santa Baby!” by Eartha Kitt may be weirdly seductive towards old saint Nick, but the gentle melody and humorous lyrics are a guaranteed mood lifter (the same could be said for BGO Online Games).

You have probably heard all of these songs a hundred times over – so why not test your Crimbo song knowledge with a little quiz? All you have to do is guess the famous Christmas tune from a sample of the lyrics – good luck!
