Hush Summer Fashion Event at John Lewis

Hush is a brand that was once known for its homewares, then its lush leisurewear, and is now known for its beautiful, wearable fashion pieces. The brand is affordable luxury, the sort of pieces that can take you from all occasions, from work situations to weekend fun, from relaxing days to nights drinking cocktails.

Last week stylist and TV presented Beth Goodrham hosted an evening of summer fashion focusing on Hush in their concession in John Lewis in Birmingham’s Grand Central. The evening was an opportunity to have a look at their latest range whilst enjoying a chat and a glass of bubbly. It was a chance to get to know the brand a little better and whilst perusing the latest pieces.

The highlight of the evening was a styling session with Beth. She had gone through the complete collection in order to curate a holiday wardrobe which was perfect for a long weekend away, taking in all the eventualities, from layering at the airport, to sightseeing around a city (Beth suggested a girly weekend in Barcelona, which sounded pretty perfect to me). There were also outfits for the evening, and accessories and bags were also taken into account.

The selection showed the range of really well, and showed just how diverse it is. There were shorts for those who live in them in Summer, but also a great range of sundresses, jumpsuits and maxi skirts for those who don’t (i.e. me, I think I own three pairs in total). There were statement pieces like the Dorothy style gingham dress that I am totally in love with and will now be stalking, but there were also great basics, like the khaki jacket which you could literally wear with anything, and those wonderful star print t-shirts that I think everyone had fallen in love with. Shoes were also matched to each outfit from the wider range at John Lewis, giving clear idea of a complete outfit.

I came away with a new appreciation of Hush, and a new destination to add to my shopping map.
