It’s nearly Christmas – get a red dress.
Christmas is coming and red is definitely the colour. Whether it’s a secret wish to resemble Mrs Claus, or just a need to stand out from the crowd at the office party, Christmas is definitely the season of the Little red dress. Red has been sported by Fashionista‘s like Kate Bosworth and Victoria Beckham in recent weeks, whilst winter ad campaigns for Very and Radley have shown models wearing sexy red numbers. So, to make it easier to channel your inner Jessica Rabbit, I have put together my picks of the little red dresses currently available on a high street near you.
This is a stunning LK Bennett dress that you can now pick up from the TK Maxx website. This has a stunning early 1960’s feel to it. Think Audrey Hepburn or Betty Draper from Mad Men. Bright, but not overly showy. Good if red is not normally your thing.
This is a great red jersey dress from Marisota that I think would be ideal for Christmas day. It’s smart, but comfy, the jersey material means it would hide the swollen tummy from all that turkey!
This is a stunning, Grace Kelly-esque Goddess dress from New Look. This would be perfect if you have a special night out this Christmas. It is reminiscent of the Marchesa dress that Anne Hathaway wore to the Oscars a few years ago and is utterly romantic.
Why not seek out your inner Kate Moss with a bit of red dress fashion history? This is a Kate Moss iconic dress that Kate wore so memorably in the window of the Oxford Circus store when the first Kate Moss Topshop collection was launched. Great for the ballet or a Christmas concert.
This is a stunning Topshop stained glass window dress that I think is very reminiscent of Alexander McQueen reptilian designs. The figure hugging design is head turning and would be great for the office Christmas party.
I love this velour maxi dress from Wallis due to the vintage look of the dress, and the stretchy feel of the fabric. Why not wear this with a little white faux fur jacket this Christmas eve?
This is a really cute necklace neck frilled tunic from Evans. This is dressy and practical, as it could be worn with leggings or trousers for a look that could be great for hitting the sales on the 26th December.
And for New Years eve…
How stunning is this Jason Wu dress from Net-a-porter? Amazing gold detail from one of Michelle Obama’s favourite designers.
Or you could go full length and fabulous darling!
Turn every head with this beautiful Issa dress from Net-a-porter. Add a fabulous golden clutch and be talked about for the rest of the year!
After viewing these dresses…who would ever go back to black?
