SAG Awards 2019 – Key Looks And Trends

Last Night the Hollywood Awards season continued with the Screen Actors Guild awards, where a suitably starry Red Carpet full of stunning dresses didn’t disappoint.

Lady Gaga was once again the stand out star on the red carpet, although once again missing out on an award. I must admit I was slightly torn over the dress – I loved the bodice and her stunning hair and make up, but the thigh high split has been overdone, and the whole look was very slightly Madonna Like A Virgin era.

For me, there were other looks that stood out more, Rachel Weisz looked incredible in black and metallic pewter, Sandra Oh in red velvet – does this woman ever get it wrong?, and Emily Blunt, who showed that Barbie Girl pink can be oh so chic rather than sugary. Emma Stone once again turned convention on its head by sporting black wide legged trousers that looked so elegant, whilst Robin Wright looked sassy and sexy in a plunging metallic Oscar De La Renta gown that shows that she continues to defy age and just looks better every year.

If you have your own red carpet event coming up, maybe a black tie event, a special night out or a real excuse to dress up, you might be looking for a stand out dress that is more than worthy of a Hollywood star. Quiz Clothing understands the rule that full length should always be fabulous, and has looks that cover all the key trends from this years SAG awards, including classic black column gowns, beautiful metallic shades with intricate beading, pretty pastal coloured gowns that would be perfect for Prom season, and deep rich pops of colour, including navy and hot pink shades.
