Lily and Sarah are coming to Birmingham for Lucy In Disguise launch!

The stylish television event of the year was the Channel 4 documentary ‘Lily Allen – From Riches to Rags’ which focused on Lily Allen  and her sister Sarah Owen as they set up their vintage emporium ‘Lucy In Disguise’. The documentary was fascinating as we watched through the laughter, tears, high and low points as the girls realised their vintage clothing dream. But one thing that was apparent from episode one was that these girls had amazing taste when it came to choosing vintage clothing.

Which is why I  am so excited about the Launch of the new capsule clothing collection from Lucy In Disguise, which is going to be sold through Harvey Nichols stores nationwide.  The 18 piece collection has a vintage feel, but is thoroughly modern and has been christened ‘Treasure box’. Lily and Sarah have worked to create a collection of 1930s style bias cut dresses, cute pieces in leopard prints and an amazing Bettie Page style 1950s swimsuit.  Lily told Vogue magazine  ‘After we’d launched the shop, I think we both felt that we wanted to create vintage styles with more contemporary, clean lines. Sometimes with vintage clothes the femininity can get lost – the market didn’t feel quite perfect, so that’s what we’ve worked on.’

Lily and Sarah are currently on a whistle-stop  tour of launches for the new collection, and here’s where it gets really exciting. On Wednesday 8th June, the girls will be at  Harvey Nichols, The Mailbox, Birmingham to give guests a preview of the complete collection. From 12-3pm guests will enjoy champagne and canapes whilst getting their first proper look at Lucy in Disguise ‘Treasure Box’. Tickets are strictly limited and cost £10. Call 0121 616 6000 for more details.
