Making the Most of a Night to Yourself
As most moms known only too well, finding time to relax when you have younger kids can be difficult at the best of times. This is why every mom should seize the opportunity to relax and unwind if they do find themselves with the chance to enjoy a night alone without the kids.
While we all love our children, having the occasional night off to unwind can do us the world of good. There are many different ways in which you can relax and enjoy some ‘me time’ from the comfort of your own home, so you can really make the most of the chance to kick back and put yourself first for a change.
Some great ideas for a relaxing evening
If you are lucky enough to get a night to yourself, there are some great ways in which you can enjoy some relaxation and fun. Some of these include:
Enjoy a movie night: Trying to get anywhere near the remote control when you have kids around can be difficult, as we all know. So, if you do have a night in on your own take the opportunity to settle down with a mix of your favourite movies. You can really make a night of it by cracking open a bottle of wine, treating yourself to a pizza, and then settling down in front of the TV to enjoy all those DVDs that you rarely get time to watch when you have the kids around.

Play some games: If you want to enjoy some fun and excitement, you can indulge in a little gaming on your night off. You can use your computer, tablet or even your smartphone to enjoy a plethora of games ranging from popular options such as Triple Town and Monopoly through to thrilling casinos games such as those you can find on sites like best-plinko-casino.com. You can download the range of mobile games with ease, meaning you can put your feet up and experience thrills (and maybe even win some extra cash!) from the comfort of your sofa.
Chill with a bubble bath: When you have the kids to look after, a relaxing bubble bath is usually out of the question. However, when you have some time alone you can forego the quick shower and instead enjoy a wonderfully relaxing experience with a bath filled with scented bubbles and even some aromatherapy oils. Light a few scented candles for an even more chilled experience and then let the stress ooze away as you enjoy a well-deserved long soak.
Read a book: Reading is something that can be tremendously relaxing, as you are able to escape for a while as you immerse yourself in another world. However, a busy mom rarely has time to sit down and enjoy getting stuck into their favourite book. This is something you can remedy if you have time to yourself without the children, as you can put your feet up and enjoy a good read in the knowledge that you won’t be disturbed every five minutes.

Put on your favourite music: With the house empty and plenty of time to yourself, this is the perfect time to pop on your favourite tunes and enjoy relaxing to some music. Whether you are into classical music, pop, jazz, rock or any other genre, at least you know that you will be able to enjoy your music in peace and quiet!
All of these provide great ways to enjoy some downtime in your own company when you have time to yourself without the children.

I can totally identify with this, even though I live by myself. Carving out some down time is something I’m terrible at, but when the stars align then a night in relaxing on the sofa with a good book or trying to get through the stack of ‘to watch’ DVDs is always welcomed – failing that, a few minutes to dance round my kitchen to my favourite songs as I cook will do!

I am all about the bubble bath! And a bubble bath with music is even better! I blogged last week about the importance of ‘me time’ and whilst life can often get in the way of that, it really is important to try and take a little bit of time for yourself to do what you want to do 🙂

Sounds like the perfect night in! My night would be trashy tv, a nice bubble bath as we only have a shower, a good book, social media, chocolate, takeaway and an early night 🙂

This is a really good post, I am more of a relaxing-in-bath-with-a-glass-of-wine type of girl! It is always nice to have one day in the week where you can just relax and be alone. You also find me in a bathtub watching a movie, especially Sundays!

A bubble bath is essential for my nights in to myself. I love falling asleep whilst listening to music in the bath 🙂
