Marc Cain Spring/Summer 2013

One of the brightest, most vibrant collections I have seen so far at the Spring/Summer press days has to be the one I encountered at Marc Cain. To say I fell in love with this collection would be an understatement. Each collection had been designed to be beautiful to look at and eminently wearable.

There were gorgeous shades of green on show in knitwear and lace, that were combined with similarly acidic yellows to create the sort of early 1960s look that Doris Day once wore so well. The mixture of tropical and botanical prints was very Lily Pulitzer in style, and when combined with sexy court shoes and printed wedges, it was a very grown up look with lots of appeal.

But the collection was not just about green and yellow. A gorgeous range, which I think was called ‘Fisherman’s girlfriend’ was chocked full of great pieces adorned with seagull prints, stripes and a colour palette of navy, red and white, tying into our love of all things nautical come spring. There were also floaty summer dresses in the sheerest of fabrics for the heady days of Summer that we may just get next year.

Here are some more of the beautiful Marc Cain pieces that caught my eye.

Sharing is caring!

Welcome to the world of fashion-mommy, a world of fashion, lifestyle, theatre and fun. Enjoy the ride.
