Marsala – The colour of Autumn
It may still be the middle of summer for those of you taking your holidays, but when it comes to fashion, that season is most definitely over. The shops and online stores are thoroughly embracing Autumn, with the new season hitting shelves and rails every day as we speak. I think this is rather exciting, because, if we are honest, this summer has been a bit of a disappointment, full of muggy days which were hot but not sunny, and days like today – full of rain and storms. The new season ranges are not only stylish, they are also transitional, perfect for the totally changeable weather we are experiencing.
I am going to be looking at the new season collections over the next few weeks, and I am starting with one of my favourite stores, Esprit. They produced on of my favourite dresses last season (you can see if on my WIWT feed here) and this season they are focusing on one particular colour that is sure to be a popular choise, Marsala.
Marsala is, of course, the patone colour for 2015, and this is the season you really get to see why. Named for a rather gorgeous fortified wine, Marsala is a deep rich colour that is also flattering against most skin tones. Leatrice Eiseman Executive Director, Pantone Color Institute® says “Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability. Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us into its embracing warmth.”
Esprit have taken Marsala and made it into a stunning collection of dresses, linen style knits and pretty boho style tunics that you can easily wear now, and then wear all through the Autumn/Winter season. You can view the whole collection here, but I have put together an edit of my favourite pieces, the ones that are topping my Autumn wishlist.
Will you be wearing Marsala this season?

I do keep doing this colour more and more at the moment. I think it’s great as there are just so many things it can go with!
