Meghan Markle – Having A Style Moment
It is now two months since that glorious, fairytale wedding, and Meghan Markle, now Duchess of Sussex, has totally hit the ground running when it come to establishing her own look. The Hollywood fashion look that I featured in a previous post (which you can find here) has now gone, and has been replaced with a cool, elegant look that I think makes Meghan the Royal equivalent of Audrey Hepburn.
In general, Meghan opts of clean lines and tends to avoid patterns which could swamp her tiny frame. She uses bright colours sparingly, opting for neutrals and more muted shades, and wearing more black than is usually seen on members of the Royal Family. Last week saw a visit to Ireland, where she showcased a series of triumphant looks including designs from Emilia Wickstead, Roland Mouret and Givenchy.
Some have mentioned (I’m thinking Meghan’s dad here) that her style has been neutered since she joined the Royal Family, and that is has become more beige, but I would disagree. Wearing a tailored trouser suit on official duties is a bold move, whilst her Wimbledon outfit of a striped Ralph Lauren shirt and wide legged trousers was pure American Preppy chic. In addition, her skyscraper heels are so sexy and glamorous and she does look so great in them.
If you love the Meghan look, you can find her style on the High Street, with Reiss once again proving to be a great place to find Duchess style. We all remember how Duchess Kate wore dresses from Reiss that literally broke the internet, and now you can find similar styles to those favoured by Meghan, particularly her stylish, tailored separates, gorgeous vertiginous heels and sophisticated dresses that can take you to a range of different occasions.
As someone who loves Royal style, I am finding it fascinating as Meghan discovers her own fashion path according to Royal rules,and love comparing her more laid back looks to those of Duchess Kate, another really stylish lady.

I love not only how she carries herself but also how she dresses. Mostly because her look isn’t unattainable – some celebrities or high rollers dress in ways most folks can’t afford or pull off lol! Her fashion is some of the best seen in the public eye for sure!
