New Season florals from George at Asda

When it comes to supermarket style, George at Asda always seems to have me filling my trolley with something other than milk. (Topical joke there folks.) Affordable, fresh and constantly updated, George at Asda never ceases to amaze people when they comment positively on your outfit and you say ‘George’, and then quote them a ridiculous price. Add into the mix the fab kids clothes and you have plenty of reasons to be doing that pocket slap.

The George A/W press day showed off some great new pieces that are now starting to hit stores. 70s trends and boho pieces with lots of paisley prints are the order of the day, with faux fur, floppy hats and tan accessories all making me seriously excited about Autumn. These pieces are really transitional too, you could add many of them to your current wardrobe, with tunic style dresses that would look great teamed with sandals. (Although waders may be more apt today…)

You can get a preview of George’s latest collection from the video below.

The lovely people at George at Asda recently sent me some new products to feature on the blog. I’ve trawled the website and can’t actually see these pieces online as of yet, but they may have arrived in your local store now.  The pieces I was sent were a tropical orange floral print jumper, and a matching skater style skirt with pockets.

You could easily wear these pieces as seperates, with the skirt matched to a plain top, and the jumper teamed with skinny jeans, or this seasons flares, but I decided to put them together as matching set. Now, it has to be admitted that the colours in the two pieces are not totally identical – the jumper has a more purple tinge to it, where the skirt is definitely blue. But I quite liked the slight mismatch, and do think it makes a striking combination.

The colour combination is just so striking due to the vibrant orange, and although I think you could accessorise with black,  I think it works well to exploit the amazing orange when choosing shoes and bags for this look.
